What did you think? I was very disappointed with TOT's tactics, which seemed to be, "Score in the first minute and then kick everything in a blue shirt"!!! I praised their approach last week but I thought that they resorted to some very poor tactics today. This was a shame as there was a big crowd and an air of expectency. I'm obviously disappointed that we dropped a couple of points at home but I wish the visitors had shown more of a desire to play football (which they are capable of) than fall back on "gamesmanship". It was interesting to see how they celebrated at the end, as if they had won the World Cup!! Still, we are top of the league and showing signs that we are yet to hit our full stride. It will be an interesting couple of months.
Viv is mentioned in today's matchday magazine. The money side of things may be an issue but PR wants him to come. Can we expect Bryan Robson to follow?!!

Hello there, I just stumbled into this board for the first time. In regarding to detail of Viv joining force with Reid while it still is a scratchy one., I have a reason to believe that it's done deal. I don't really think the money is the issue for FAT(for four years) as they will find people who willing to step in and fund the project (and I think you know who is the prime candidate). The questiong is why would these two coaches with considerably bright future put their future on the line by accepting the jobs. As for Robson, I think it will be just a dream as he is ranking a bit above Reid and Viv.
Welcome aboard, bon-nirman. I was only joking about Bryan Robson. The three of them are very close friends and Viv Anderson was his assistant at Middlesbrough. I still have mixed feelings about the appointment but I guess that time will tell. I can remember watching Peter Withe's teams and he managed to get the best out of the players by instilling a certain amount of discipline and getting them to play to their strengths. If Reid and Anderson can do the same there's no reason why Thailand can't look forward to a bright(ish) future. However, if I'm being honest, I'd rather see FAT's money go into the domestic game than into the pockets of two Englishmen. And, I'd rather that any money came from a different source to the one being quoted
@ Shark, unfortunately I was not able to watch the game on siamtv. It wasn't showed there. At least not on the channels which have been available. I only hope that during the next weeks, TrueSport will go on to braodcast again, so that I am might be able to to watch via myp2p.

Another interesting set of results in 2A. Long time league leaders Prachinburi are definitely faltering now, having dropped points in three of their last four matches. Songkhla remain in second and move to within a point of the leaders thanks to an 88th minute winner at lowly Sakhon Nakhon, and Korat won their 'must win' match against third placed Narathiwat. Coming from a goal down, the winner arrived in the 91st minute. We're now 2 points below Narathiwat and five below Songkhla. Korat's next match...at home to Songkhla!
Brief highlights of Chonburi v TOT here : http://sstv.siamsport.co.th/ViewClip.asp?C=00003544 Although we don't get to see our disallowed "goal" near the end. Strange that!
And it's looking very interesting in Division 1. Only 13pts separate 2nd and 13th. An entertaining 2-0 win for SriRacha yesterday. And their biggest crowd of the season. I think that they've benefitted from Chonburi returning to Assumption as it has prompted a lot of interest from the locals. It certainly seems to have inspired the team. Did you make it to the match this weekend, vinnie?
The webboard is back up and running on thaifootball.com Personally, I think we should go back there. I know we had problems with it before but, after all, there's only four of us posting regularly on here and at least we have our own board at the other site instead of just a thread. If you need further convincing, Maria's on there already!! I didn't make it to the game SRS. I finished work at 16:30 and that bloody stadium is so far from anywhere that it takes at least an hour to get there by public transport. I should definitely be there for the next home game in two weeks...if I set off now!
I'm in, lets hope it stays around this time. I wil also continue to post here in case anyone else pops in.
New sponsor for Chonburi Thailand Premier League champions Chonburi FC received a huge financial boost when they signed a sponsorship deal worth 18 million baht with Hemaraj Land and Development Plc yesterday. The property developer will be the club's main sponsor for three years starting next season. Chonburi manager Vittaya Khunpluem said the money would help strengthen the team's bid in the Thai league and the AFC Champions League. The club is constructing a new 15,000-seat stadium to be their home ground which is expected to be complete in the middle of next year, he said. Vittaya said the club aimed to become the number one football team in Thailand in terms of both results and marketing. Arguably the best organised football club in Thailand, Chonburi are looking for players from Brazil, Argentina, Ivory Coast and Cameroon, he said. Hemaraj chairman Sawad Horrungruang said the firm, whose main business is in Chon Buri and Rayong, wanted to help encourage the young to play sports. He hoped that the sponsorship would also help football development in Thailand in general Article from www.bangkokpost.com
Truly excellent news for football in Thailand. The rest of the teams in the league should look to Chonburi as a model on how to do things the right way.

Division 2 will soon finish, with about 3 rounds left.
At this moment nobody knows, I don't think Football Association of Thailand (FAT) know either. They are not quick to release information to the media, the tournement cannot be played any later due to the ASEAN Cup and then Asian Cup qualification matches, so it will be played around this date, give or take a couple of days either side, with a few other desperate nations thrown into the tournement at the last minute. But should be four nations again. I'll let you know when the teams are known.
