Official schedule for the final round of Asian WCQ

    The Asian football confederation has confirmed its schedule for the final round of the World Cup qualification.

    According to the AFC, the final tournament will start on February 9 and continue until August 17.

    Here is the full schedule:

    Matchday One ( February 9 )
    Teams of Pot 1 vs Teams of Pot 4
    Teams of Pot 3 vs Teams of Pot 2

    Matchday two ( March 25 )
    Teams of Pot 2 vs Teams of Pot 1
    Teams of Pot 4 vs Teams of Pot 3

    Matchday three ( March 30 )
    Teams of Pot 1 vs Teams of Pot 3
    Teams of Pot 2 vs Teams of Pot 4

    Matchday four ( June 3 )
    Teams of Pot 3 vs Teams of Pot 1
    Teams of Pot 4 vs Teams of Pot 2

    Matchday five ( June 8 )
    Teams of Pot 2 vs Teams of Pot 3
    Teams of Pot 4 vs Teams of Pot 1

    Matchday six ( August 17 )
    Teams of Pot 1 vs Teams of Pot 2
    Teams of Pot 3 vs Teams of Pot 4

    The play-off between third teams will take place on September 3 and September 7, while the AFC-CONCACAF play-off will be played on November 12 and November 16.

    Pot One: Japan, S. Korea
    Pot Two: Iran, Saudi Arabia
    Pot Three: Uzbekistan, Bahrain
    Pot Four: Kuwait, N. Korea

    S. Korea will either play N. Korea or Kuwait in an away game on February 9. Trust me.

    playing soccer in North Korea in February? i guess a soccer match can be played in pleasant sunshine with -20 degrees with wind-chill.

    i just heard the news for myself.

    one thing to correct on your post is that S. Korea and Japan will play HOME game on Feb. 9 against a pot 4 team. 2nd game is away at a pot 2 team, 3rd at home against pot 3 team.

    That's cool that they have Pot 1 v Pot 2 on the last day. Should be some interesting last day clashes, assuming the top two haven't already sealed it by then. There's also the Pot 3 v Pot 4 match on the final day that could be decisive in determining the playoff spot. Too bad the UAE and Oman won't be there.
