Liam Miller is in Sunderland for a medical. Probably a loan deal I think...

I heard Miller was on a free. Keane must really still think Miller can be something. Maybe it's just he performed decently for Leeds at the lower level.

I am sort of surprised that Eagles got loaned to NEC and not sold. Maybe the team thinks he can still be sorted out.

I wonder if Miller still has time to bloom. Now I have two teams to keep track of this season.. wonder whether Keane will be able to pull this through.

    Great list DS.

From the perspective of what we started with last season compared to this, it might also be worth adding a Retired: Roy Keane to the list.

If you forget the talk from the Glazers / Gill / SAF, we definitely appear to be a club that is downsizing. Roy and Ruud were our two most expensive players from a wage point of view IIRC, I also remember hearing that Liam Miller was on 40K or so.

The finances and ongoing revenue costs are gonna look quite rosy now.

This whole situation really annoys me, which is stoopid really - I am on the whole pretty happy with our team. We only have one hole, which is the aggressive midfield ball winner and cover for the back four. Sadly in this league, it is just a pretty huge hole and it really takes the edge of what could be a fantastic team. If we couldn't have got the > £15 million player we wanted (ie Hargreaves, Mascherano etc.) then we should have gone for a Senna / Graveson stop-gap. Fletcher / O'Shea just are not upto it season long against the teams with a quality combative midfield.

Up front is a slight concern, Rooney / Saha / Ole / Smiffy ain't bad, loosing Rossi until January is risky though I can at least understand it as he should hopefully develop better with playing time.
