You might want to add the Mikel fee. I'm not sure if that counts though, considering he never actually played for us.

The way that deal was presented was that Chelsea bought out Uniteds "option" on Obi Mikel and he was directly transferred from Lyn to Chelski.

u guys sure bash fletcher and o shea a lot

they arent the greatest but at least not like pascal cygan

plus wouldnt they stay around for that new UEFA ruling about home grown talent/youth development?

i forgot how that one goes and if it was discussed i only read up to page 2

    carry on

Fletcher is cool, Oshea is disturbing.

    in what way :D

i like him because he is versatile like phil but even more so and if we suffer as many injuries as last season he could be key to filling the holes(somewhat) until other players return and he does pop up with the odd goal infact probably scores about the same as fletcher usually 3 or 4

He is slow, lazy, not showing any signs of improvement, and not losing any weight. Its one thing to be slow and precise, its another to be slow and garbage (Oshea).

There are no positives for keeping him at the club. I'd rather have kept Quinton Fortune.

    injury prone emperor???

i dunno i havent noticed him being particularly fat, pace was never his strong point anyway i guess his aerial threat must be it

I noticed him being bigger than he ever was this off season.

If his aerial game is his strong point? Is that the reason why Ferguson is keeping John Oshea around?

When you say he does have his moments... he has one almost every game. He needs time on the ball to do well, and I will give him credit. He does play some good passes at times. He barely ever uses his size and power to his advantage. He has no presence in midfield except for on a few occasions, and the guy is what 6'3 185+lbs?

Quinton Fortune, even though injury prone, was waaay better in midfield than Oshea will ever be. Even at leftback he was better (though not that impressive on the whole).

well u guys seem to buy into the details a lot me being based in canada i read the news as best i can an watch the few saturday morning games of United i can catch

and when i say moments i mean not like losing the ball cheaply i mean like absolute howler costing a goal and maybe the game. the aerial part im not saying thats why fergie keeps him im just saying im guessing from what ive seen of him its his strong point either that or his footwork/passing. im guessing fergie is still cutting that rough gem thats why he is still around. fergie knows how to handle young talent so i trust him with o shea

i agree fortune was better but what good is he on the treatment table?

im just saying he isnt abysmal,i personally feel he is being bashed too much by many of you, i wont call names cuz i cant remember all of them since im new and because there is no need

besides he is still young. i forgot what his best position is but if im correct he hasnt been playing there much lately and maybe he needs time to adapt to his new position. i think he should use his size to his advantage too. i wish i could see more ireland games to see how he does for them and compare it to games with us

im not going to get drawn into an arguement about o shea but i have seen enough of him to know he is useful and can make it here. whether he will is another story

i know i am new here and no one will take me seriously and keep bashing but i just think some of it is unfair

Martin has been loaned by Rangers for 6months.

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=375553&cc=5901

to me that signifies Giggs will play as a winger this season. Ronaldo, Park, Giggs and Richardson as our wingers for this term.

Good for Martin, should do well and toughen up too.

In an interview, Fergie said the loan was for six months.

thanks... edited. 6 months is much better. Let him get used to playing on the big stage, toughen up a bit and then come back and fight for the role of back-up winger.
