Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread RSL has looked a good outfit since the Argies landed and they pwned Lalas with that trade. They now have an Argie for D one for mid and one forward. A package deal. Findley is dangerous. This is going to be a tough one. They hustle and fight and claw. We need to come in with a workman's attitude. Do the job.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread This is the way I always go. I work in Columbia and live in Balt. Definately go this way. It sucks, but it's the best way. Also, make sure you know where you are going in Columbia. It's REAL easy to get lost.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United (9/12) Pre-Match Thread Thanks everyone on tips on getting to the game from Baltimore. I think it shouldn't be as bad as expected. I just feared hitting more traffic than expected and getting there late. Should be fun.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread No, it's "flied lice, plick!" No bananas allowed anywhere near RFK on Wednesday!!!!!! GM [hey, it's abstruse and cryptic, but what else ya got goin on?]
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread no legitimate dmid? ummm, how about kyle beckerman, the guy is a stud and has been playing great since we aquired him (thank you cRapids, you always seem to make the most ridiculous trades with us). in reality, we are still a bad team. hopefully in the offseason we get rid of even more of the junk players on this team and sign some more quality players like the argentines. we do seem to have your number whenever we play, but you guys are just to talented and on such a hot streak there is no way we win. at best, rsl can hope for a 2-2 tie, but we are mostly expecting something like a 3-1 loss. watch out for the argentines and findley though, they are aggressive and can really punish you for any mistakes. should be a good game (i hope).
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread Beckerman can flat out play. And he's not just a destroyer - he's improving his attacking too. Not for long. And that's a good thing. I long for the day when there is no easy game - i.e. when every team has its own strengths and can present different dangers to every other team. I don't believe this for a minute.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread Damn, Matt already has my chosen position of goalpost, is there a position where I never have to leave the center circle? any further might wear me out. And he always plays well here. I believe he is a local product. He was always out with United after colorado games drinking with our guys instead of theirs (of course, they rarely had anything to celebrate, and I'm sure all drink Coors anyway).
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United (9/12) Pre-Match Thread No resting of players for the sake of rest, they have the weekend off after the game to rest. We'll be without Moreno, we need our creative guys (Gomez, Fred) out there.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread Er, there are two goalposts... He's from Crofton, MD, just up the road from me. That's why he has dreadlocks.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread I love the example presented in the third definition
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United (9/12) Pre-Match Thread After reading the GoffBlog this afternoon, it sounds like the only change to the lineup is that Fred will take Moreno's spot up top and Olsen will come back into midfield. That is according to Steinberg. I can definitely live with that lineup, though I'd like to see Boswell get a start, if only to mollify people on this board that it's not some vast Vanney-related conspiracy to bench Boswell. Or that he's being punished for his ESPN comments, as suggested by Wynalda last week.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread My essay for my English 111 Final last year was about Trustafarians. Western North Carolina is infested with them.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread Seems like every campus has more than it's fair share of trustifarians these days actually.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United (9/12) Pre-Match Thread I know the Universities and Colleges in Boston are packed with them. They drive to protests in the BMW's daddy brought them, complain about the price of parking while sipping their $4 lattes from Starbucks and shouting "Stop the Injustice!" I bet they'll start wearing OneDC shirts next.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread I find it mildly excusable on a campus. On the other hand, when it's Bushwick, Brooklyn, it's annoying beyond belief.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United (9/12) Pre-Match Thread Hey, I see them outside the IMF and World Bank...
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread hahaha...bonus points to you. I call corner flag.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United Pre-Match thread If you're trying to impersonate say, Okaluja, you'll also have to be legally blind.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United (9/12) Pre-Match Thread I'm thinking we suspend the offside rule for this one so I can lean against RSLs goalpost and smoke cigarettes. After I tap a couple in, I'll feign a strained hammy so Tommy can sub someone else in to have some fun.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United (9/12) Pre-Match Thread 3 points are 3 points no matter where they come from. No mercy.
Re: Official ReAL SaLT LaKE @ DC United (9/12) Pre-Match Thread No, what's annoying is when they draw a paycheck (note I did not say "earn") working for you. I had a kid tell me once that he couldn't come to a meeting because he had to man a booth for the company's environmental club (what is this, high school?) The best though was when he told me he wanted to transfer to another department because it's located in San Francisco, but not just yet. He wanted to stay on my team for another month or so and then transfer, because he had already bought his tickets for his vacations (plural), to Thailand and Africa. So basically he wanted the convenience of being where he was for a month, drawing a check, going on vacation twice, and then moving to the department he picked out for himself. Sheesh.
