So the "Fire Sale" has ended - no more picking players from the worst team in MLS last season. Sorry to see EZ go - he was a nice midseason pickup for United.
Odd that it's listed as pick "3.5" on the draft list and that they still haven't shown who we protected...
Here goes the jackasses talking about Ezra being offensive-minded. Dude, put away the '99 highlight tapes - the guy can barely get up the field now.
I like this because eventually he's going to be a good player here in MLS. Sure he looked like crap against us this year with little defensive running, but I'd rather have him out west than with the Metros.
I thought that, in order to get an allocation, the player either had to leave while still under contract with MLS (thereby generating a transfer fee) or retire (a la Etcheverry)...though I have absolutely no idea where I got that idea, so I could be wrong as easily as I could be right...
There was an expectation that Johnny Walker was gonna go to the Goats. But the fact that Stoner/Wynalda talk about the Goats bringing in a set of players from Guadelajara, and only having holes at the wings/forwards, makes me wonder if they even need a keeper. Does anyone know about this whole "set of players from Guadelajara" thang?
I think Walker may be part of a gentleman's agreement trade that involves Chivas, KC and the Metros. (KC) Meola to NY (NY) Walker to CDC (CDC) Hendrickson to KC
