On schedule again. Almost 10 AM EDT, 7 AM West Coast time and we are back to Michel's Round 14 pick and then the two west coasters and I have Jay's proxy instructions. Richard said he sent his proxies to Craig. Ralph also sent me his proxy for his last pick.

Re: Draft Recap Thru Round 14 Pick 4

With the signing of Unsworth, Kopite Juniors would like to remind dictator Hal, that we now have a zero player :D

    Benevolent Dictator, pahlease!

I think we have two volunteers to run the draft next year, assuming neither gets relegated. :D It's loads of fun, Richard and Mark, like trying to herd cats.

Actually, I thought this year's draft went very well with all the manager availability challenges we had to deal with. Thanks again, everyone, for the use of proxies so we could complete this thing.

As soon as Michel makes his 14th pick, we'll be able to finish off the drafts for your team, for Jay's, and for Richard's in about 10 minutes, sending it back to Michel for his last pick.

Actually, with all the money he has left, he's looking at a different draft pool than the rest of us, so we could probably get away with going ahead, although I'm just surmising and not proposing we do so.

I honestly don't remember a smoother draft. And this is what our fourth or fifth year doing this?

I have 15.5 left and it is killing me. Having more trouble with these last 2 picks than I had the entire draft up to this point.

    Drogba? Anyone?

You might keep some in reserve so you can grab any of the very high priced new EPL players that join the Premiership before the transfer window closes on Aug 31. With a bank reserve you can just trade straight up, whereas I would have to make a multiple player deal to free up enough cash to acquire anyone who costs more than Malbranque's 8.0 M. Steed is my bank! ;)

That is one of the two other options. The other being the selection of the best 2 player set that totals 15.5. The problem with the bank reserve approach is that I have to believe that I can beat YOU to the punch Hal. What are my chance of that?

Actually, it's not me you have to worry about, but Michel, Mark, and Ralph who grab the newbies. Me, I like to grab the castaways from them when they go for some newbie who will have to get a work permit and get acclimated to the team and EPL football. I like the proven mid-to-high priced veterans that managers will release to reach for the holy grail, some newbie savior.

I might as well shower up and get dressed for church while we wait for Michel. Be back in 20 minutes.

Now it sounds like you want me to pattern myself after the Michel, Mark, and Ralph group, and you are not making it sound that attractive.

Too many choices, so little time.

The right(?) answer will come to me as soon as Jay has picked and I have to do something.

I have about 30 minutes left before I am gone for the day with no pc access. No big deal, just a back up keeper to pick up.

If we are not back to me by then, I will send Hal my pick.

Nobody likes Hleb! Sure he was a bust last year, but he did come on at the end. And somebody besides Rosicky and Fabregas have to play midfield for AR.

My problem with him is that the AR, LI, NU and WI guys will all miss the second gameweek. So you have to wonder how many you can have on your squad without immediately having trouble filling a starting roster. Darr is going to have an interesting problem coming right up.

So many problems, so little time.

Houston, we have re-established contact with the Odyessy as it emerges from the back side of the moon! Welcome back, Michel.

Mark sent me his proxy pick for his last selection. So I am now picking for Jay, Mark, myself, and Ralph.

This last round should go very fast.

Hard to believe that people keep looking at the previous season's scores when there's a new season ahead with whole new challenges.

A previous season's score often only serves to inflates the price. Remember the fate of Ian Harte; one of your personal favourites I believe.

    ;)

I'm actually looking at all the cheap options available to you guys, with the intention of bagging two of them, and then throw the remaining cash on the table for some transfers.

    :D

Now that is not wisdom, that is just plain mean. ;) Especially, since most of the remaining picks are fillers that the managers will adjust when the post-draft, pre-season trade window opens at 10 AM EDT this Tuesday.

Love that pick Michel. He's a great kid who never stops running.

    For djangone ............

    Tonge Sheff Utd MID 4.5

Could it be true that there are 2 Tonge's in this league?

Now Jay, and then decision time.

I note that Michel has 10.5 left. Just enough for Drogba.

A fake with the transfer talk, and then a swope for the Chelsea guy?

Have I been looking at this too hard?
