Lets assume that we hold on to win since we're up 2-0 with 15 minutes.

Can you imagine the high if we take care of business at home and then knock them out of the Cup? Three wins against the Darlings of 42nd Street in seven days. Short of a trophy, could anything be better?

Rimando reportedly tore his ACL, according to MLSnet.com.

yikes. if true, that sucks...however...seems a little quick to diagnose an ACL while the game is still being played

Well, Warren is having an amazing 15 minutes if the guy on the web broadcast can be believed. Sounds like he's made a whole raftload of decent saves.

Hope the Rimando stuff is being overblown... Radio said he was trying to go back in. Hardly sounds like a ACL. Hope this is true.

--HUGE props to the BRAVE ONES who trucked up to New Jersey!!!! We heard the songs HERE!! It brought tears to my eyes. (well not really... but hey i raise my gin to you.) :D

I'll wait for the official word on Rimando's injury. Sounds like a great game (6 minutes of extratime? wow). Can't wait to watch it tonight.

Some said United wouldn't win another road game this year.

Some said Cerritos and Stewart wouldn't continue to have anything to do with the offense.

Several say Hudson should be fired, then they disappear in these threads after wins, or they only credit "luck" for the wins, yet bash the staff for their "preparation" after losses.

Others questioned the selection of Warren - saying we'd never need a backup keeper.

    Many blasted the Cerritos trade.

    Meanwhile ....

.... United are one point out of second place.

United won tonight with a backup GK at the end and its best defender not even in the lineup.

United are six points clear for a playoff spot.

United are 10-6-2 in the last 18 games.

United are two wins from winning the Open Cup.

    So ...

Will someone .. anyone ... who fits in the first set of categories please step to the plate and finally give this team some freakin' credit?

Oh ... and we might just get to hold on to the Atlantic Cup, too. :)

Oh ... and we won 2-0 in The Swamp.

    Bee yoo ti ful.

[sarcasm/] What a relief! Wouldn't want happiness and joy to reign on these boards, now would we? [/sarcasm]

Tough break. For Nick, and for the team.

Here's hoping that it's something like scar tissue build up in his knee that they can scope out and have him back on the pitch in two weeks.

    ahh

absolutely beautiful. I'm gonna be dead at work tomorrow.

I'll have everyone know that I wore my new United jersey for the first time tonight -- been saving it for over a month just for this. I don't want to take all the credit, but I believe it has magical powers. I'll be wearing it next match for sure.

was I right in counting FOUR goal mouth blocks? and two by benny?! scary and wonderful at the same time.

Mr sornum, how do we smell now??

I hate to hear that about Nicky but lets hope Warren can come in and do the job. Our defense has been very strong so if he can just make those couple of big saves a game.

Wow, a win without Nelsen playing. Nice to get him a break and still win. Hopefully he will be ready to go on Sunday.

No Guevera for them Sunday as he got a yellow and is suspended.

I hope they get Nick in to Hazel's office first thing in the am, and there isnt so much swelling they cant scope it by the weekend.

Only heard a very small portion of the match online, but the announcer's description of Nick's injury does not sound good. Hopefully, after a full exam, it won't be as bad as it sounded. But Warren will get a chance to prove he belongs, if Nick is forced to be out and he has shown well in the Open Cup.

This is a great win and I also heard that Guevara picked up another yellow card, so should be out for Sunday's match at RFK. Go DC!

    A glorious win--absolutely outstanding.

I don't think you can make a clear diagnosis on Nick's knee within 5 minutes of it happening--he was out around the 80th minute, got subbed and the announcer says "ACL"--I don't think so. Maybe speculation but let's hope the speculation is wrong.

And Ed, I was absolutely, positively wrong. While I've not been a complete critic of the team, I did say that I thought the Metros mid was a big edge over us for this match and that Bradley had their team finding ways to win games against the run of play (ie: believe they'd find a way to win). Wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong again. Kudos to a team that has a lot of spirit, heart and brought it all tonight.

Let's hope Nelsen gets healthy, Nicky's injury isn't serious and now we'll have Quintanilla back (while they lose Guevara).
