    WHEW!!!

    Major exhale, sigh of relief!

We're in, saving ourselves from utter embarassment.

I don't think we look good, but anything can happen in a home and home.

Knave, you better get a carbon monoxide detector for all the sighs of relief that will be made.

Too bad we're going to lose to Chicago.

    Oh well. :D

I'd say Hristo is our MOTM. I thought his insertion aat the beginning of the second half energized both Namoff and Convey. And thus the goal was produced with Convey breaking open on the left and Namoff finding him for the cross to Hristo.

    I'm relieved.

We'll make it damn hard for them. At least we don't have to play the hottest team in the league: NE. They whooped the tar out of NY/NJ.

And we have matched up quite well against Chicago this year except for the last game when we were really depleted. However we will miss Olsen's absence.

Wonder if we'll be seeing more of Q1?

Since DC United had more injuries than the Iraqi Republican Guard, I'd say it's obvious that Ray Hudson=Genius.

Sounded like Q1 did all right for himself considering he hadn't played in so long. Was that the case TV watchers?

I was suprised that Etch played the whole 90. He looked quite tired/invisible in the second half.

Ivanov, on the other hand was VERY visible all game. Very active. And as usual, he was either very bad or very good

Yeah he was solid. Played right wing basically and shored up our midfield defense both on the wing and in that void where Etch sort of plays. That's why I'm wondering if we'll see more of him vs Chicago. If Convey is on the left, who would we play vs Mapp or Beasley on the right? Q2 and his speed? Quintanilla got subbed for a reason tonight and Quaranta is an upgrade IMO.

On behalf of the large Kiwi fanbase, I can happily report that the country has broken into bedlem as news comes thru of DC reaching the playoffs.

The game wasn't televised here today, so we all had to tune into the internet broadcast. Very relieved that OT didn't bite once more!

Roll on Chicago - tho I don't hink we are gonna make it to the game - so leaving it to you guys to make sure they have some rowdy support!!

Gosh! This is really a surprise since DC is REALLY a crap team. I have never seen such crap in the history of MLS. They are down by 1-0 and they have the urgency of a turtle sun bathing!
Etchverry cannot play soccer any more. You might as well put the local night watch man there. He can pass the ball but no further than 5 yards. Can't run. Doesn't give a dam about trying to defend. At a certain stage I almost believed that he was doing it on purpose.
I mean what does it say when to inject some urgency in the team you have to insert a 37 year old ? indeed what does it say about the entire MLS when one of the best goals scorers is ...a 40 year old? This leage is bad. DC is the crapiest of them all.
By the way do they run some kind of a fattening farm? Alegria ( who did not play today) looks like he has been on a fattening diet ditto for stewart. Quaranta goin the same way. My goodnes what a crap! And I am a dc fan... but this....

    cheers ursula

i have been reading these boards for years to make sure our boy has been playing good soccer. And apologies for stealing him away for the Iran-New Zealand clash the other week.

DC actually doesn't have that and a record against Chicago this year and seemed to have fared better all season as soon as everyone expects them to falter. So, no reason to go into the playoffs without a good deal of hope.

We'll keep trying to produce more players for United out here we promise!!
