On the other hand- Freddy attacking from Marvell's side keeps the rook pinned back in his end which is a good thing. Gros can't have the same effect because he has more defensive responsibilities then Fred.

The reality however is that several of our players will attack from the left. It's all good.

And speaking of Marvell stopping Fred each time in week one, I seem to remember back in 2000 Rusty Pierce stopping Jaime Moreno cold in an early season game. Somehow Jaime has managed to figure out how to play with Rusty. Fred can learn the same.

Nowak moved Adu at halftime, to the center. It worked much better.

I like the idea of Gros beating on Wynne.

Yes and we stopped playing three forwards which wasn't working out very well.

And Boz was puking a lung out

Isn't Guavara suspended already? I would have thought he couldn't go through 3 games without a red card so he could head back home for a week on the beach.

It's too early to tell "weather" or not the black storm clouds coming up from the south will dump 2, 3, or 4 or more goals on the Meadowlands on Saturday.

Lucio and Jaime play too much alike - neither is a "striker," someone who will get in the Heifer's grill and snap off a shot at a moment's notice. Esky will do that.

oh...ok...well, in regards to the keeper situation, I would continue playing Perkins until he messes it up regardless of how healthy Rimando is. He had a shaky outing against the Bulls in the season opener but he has really settled down and you can't really argue with two consecutive shutouts.

On that swamp pitch, it's best to use young legs. I'd like to see a score where Jaime and Gomito could take the last half hour off.

We were still in the 4-3-3, just with Esky, Filomeno, and Moreno up top instead of Adu, Filomeno, and Moreno. Unless you're trying to make a snarky remark about Moreno not being a "true" forward. Although we really took it to RBNY in the second half, I am expecting a 3-5-2 in NY. Yeah, Moreno was tired from the flight, but he needs to be in the center of the park and not a wing forward.

Seemed to me (noting that I probably had a fever by half time) that the best thing Wynne did against Adu was mark high and tight on him so as not to let him turn and face him very often, and even when Fred did get turned around he was right in his face and pushed him to the line. Adu doesn't have the physical tools to outplay him in this situation, save for his speed. This means the players playing balls to him should look for him to check back and play the ball over Wynne, OR someone should check to Adu for a lay off and 1-2 behind Wynne as Freddy peels off of him to the line.

Then again, I was VERY sick at that first game.

I'd like to see Jamil Walker come in around '60. He will absolutely fly on the astroturf. Even if it's a little damp.

On the field would be my preference. While the players are going to the bench, could say something like, "Coach, I believe you're seat is up here", then escort him into the stands.

I just hope our team is ignoring all this crap, rather than hearing about it and assuming this game'll be an easy walkover. Going up there in the middle of this and still losing would suck more than losing under ordinary circumstances would. If another team is in trouble, you don't relax. Just the opposite: you play your best game, crowd them into a corner and beat them into submission. I hope that's the mentality we have.

It's the Metrobulls. That's not just the mentality we need but the strategy we usually use, just beat the shit out of them. :D
