Dave O'Brien---Who is he? Read in USA today this morning that he has been named play-by-play announce for the USA, starting on Sunday. I cant remember who he is, but people have said he did college sports on ESPN. Does anyone know if hes any good. Re: Dave O'Brien---Who is he? dave o brien used to be the play by play voice for the flordia marlins before moving up to do games with ESPN and i believe the San Francisco Giants (but could be wrong) but anyways his delivery is real smooth and i'm actually looking forward to his call on Sunday

Re: What did you think of Dave O'Brian? I like him, its a recognizable voice and a good broadcaster voice. He's not perfect, but he's doing very well CONSIDERING this is his first game. He knows the players, he's obviously prepared, he's a professional. Much better than the crap we had to deal with before. Give him some time to learn the more technical side and he'll be better. Now subtract 10 points from him for saying Jason Wolff at least 3 times.

The US is approaching the box, passes to a fwd and not far from the goal box - Obrien follows (good job so far, Obrien) then, FOR SOME REASON ONLY HE KNOWS! Obrien says, "what a nice sunny day - and here is the shot!" For all the Obrien supporters - please tell me how's that acceptable. PBP grade: F-
