They're currently tied for 1st on points in Belgian 2nd Division 3rd Period. If they win the 3rd Period, they'll qualify for the promotion playoffs. So that's the point!

C'mon, get with the program! My posts are so informative. :p :D

I thought they were far from promotion............... but wait, no I can't get too excited, because then they will just hurt me even more.

there is no point, these Chinese brothers are cursed. Shao and Dong are cursed.

i don't think so, If they get promoted, Shao would have been a major factor. I don't think the team is that cold and say........ screw you, you're done.

They will at least have him on the bench. Plus, I don't think they can afford any big names to replace him anyways.

Yes there are. Sun Jihai in Manchester City, Shi Jun in Swiss League, Shao Jiayi in Munich 1860, and Hao Haidong in Sheffield United (though he rarely plays).

Here are most if not all of the "real" Chinese Abroad players. There are a few prospects or relatively unknown players also playing abroad. Gai Yang is a prospect playing for the Olympique de Marseilles reserves. A few years ago there were two Chinese players at a small South American club.

Sun Jihai (Manchester City, England) - Contract ends this summer.

Li Tie (Everton, England) - Will be released this summer.

Dong Fangzhuo (Antwerp, Belgium) - Could be loaned to NEC Nijmegen (Netherlands) next season. Otherwise next year will be his final one at Antwerp. Manchester United will have to decide what they are going to do with him after then.

Shi Jun (Young Boys, Switzerland) - Should still be there next season.

Shao Jiayi (1860 München, Germany) - This is his penultimate year of a four and a half year contract signed in January 2003.

Zhang Xiaobin (New Zealand Knights, Australia) - His future status is unknown.

Hao Haidong (Sheffield United, England) - His only appearance was being substituted on in their FA Cup loss. His playing career is most likely over.

Xu Xiaofei (Kamatamare Sanuki, Japan) - I include him as a novelty. That club is in a Japanese regional league.

That's 4 consecutive goals in as many matches!
Dong Fangzhuo has scored 18 goals in 25 matches.

It's strange why he hasn't been suspended yet for that retaliatory kick.

Here is De ANTWERPSUPPORTER Online's breakdown of Dong Fangzhuo's abilities:

    1. Speed (9/10): Dong's main trump card. He's fast as lightning.

    2. Technique (7/10): Sufficient. There's still room for improvement.

    3. Acerbity for Aim (6/10): Loves small spaces and is no "box player." (I've no idea what that means.)

    4. Mental Toughness (4/10): One can beat during the match rapidly from its lead. (I've no idea what that means.)

    5. Heading (8/10): Clearly sufficient, thanks to, among other things, his large frame.

    6. Soccer Intelligence (7/10): Could be better, but is still in full development.

    7. Work Rate (6/10): Provisionally still too inconsistent.

Conclusion: Attacker with enormous potential whose limits has not yet been reached.

I translated it from Dutch into English, then edited it for flow.

PS. Hey seb_perpignan, since you're the closest one to Antwerp, maybe you can provide LIVE coverage of Dong and his promotion playoffs (if they make it). :) :D
