Yes, although it's only right now that I notice that Chifure AS Elfen Saitama seems to be the only WE League team without an official mascot (I would have expected an elf, or something ).
Tomorrow's games: WE LEAGUE Beleza vs Sanfre 16:00 Nadeshiko League Iga vs Orca 13:00 Konomiya vs Ehime 13:00 Nadeshiko League 2 Belle vs Tsukuba 13:00
H.T...Konomiya 0 Ehime 1 Anything would have been an improvement on last weeks farcical performance but is a genuine improvement. Ehime without Fujisawa (not even on the bench....injured?) Not overly confident of a win because you know who is still in goal and she can lose the game on her own edit...experienced defender Hikari Sato back from injury sustained last season and on the bench should Ehime need to hold on for a win
70 mins ...Konomiya 1 Ehime 1...Tanimoto F.T...Konomiya 1 Ehime 1 Konomiya coach finally realised the way to beat Ehime is to make them play in their own half and simply wait for the defence and the hapless goalkeeper to give the ball away in a dangerous position. Oh well... a point is a point and after last week that's something for Ehime F.C. Ladies Good to see Hikari Sato back (came on 81 min)...Think she will combine well with young Fujisawa when she's back Observation....I think it was worth the price of a ticket just to see the ever enthusiastic ever smiling Minami Nakano. She just keeps going and going and going Edit.....just seen Iga won and are League 1 Champions....Congratuations KAPI
Beleza v Sanfre just starting on DAZN You Tube Japan...apparently available in Europe...again (Yamaguchi starts for Sanfre)
Nice goal from Kobayashi, but you could sense it coming. I like the fact that Hiroshima try to be positive, but really they need to tighten up more in midfield. There is a bit too much space for the Beleza midfield.
H.T.....Beleza 1 Sanfre 0...Kobayashi 23mins from outside the box Yamaguchi having difficulty getting around Shimizu
Beleza has some serious problems... if it wasn't for Kobayashi individual effort... 30 minutes they'd bang the wall without any success. Miura's bossing the midfield but her steals are often wasted because Beleza wants to run with the ball into goal. Sanfrecce lacks cohesivness of a seasoned team but none the less they're making life very hard for Beleza. EDIT The style of Beleza play hasn't change in last 3 years. What changed is quality that eroded with players that had left the club during this time.
Hiroshima are missing Masuya. She gives their midfield a little bit more skill and creativity. I am glad Nakashima, but I still would have liked to see Yamaguchi play a bit more. I thought she was quite productive when given the chance. I am glad he took off Kinga and Kawashima. They both were not bad, and the midfield improved as the first half went on, but fresh legs I think are necessary to put pressure on Beleza's midfield.
Today's result: WE LEAGUE Beleza (Kobayashi, Ueki) 2-0 Sanfre Nadeshiko League Iga (Sugita, Mori) 2-0 Orca Konomiya (Tanimoto) 1-1 Ehime (Yokoyama) Nadeshiko League 2 Belle (Nakamura, Honjo, Shidara) 3-2 Tsukuba (Furutera 2)
Nice header from Ueki. Beleza were clearly the better team and deserve their victory, but I think they are going to struggle to compete with INAC and Urawa for the title this season. I can not imagine teams like Sendai and INAC giving Miura so much time on the ball. But she was very good today. Kobayashi is the striker Nadeshiko need in my opinion. She hits the ball with power! It is so important. I also forgot this is Beleza's first win of the season. Hiroshima have so many interesting players, but they just seem to be missing a good striker. Against good defences they just lack that something extra to score. It is hard to know where they will end up. I look forward to watching more of Yanase. She is only nineteen and looks very good on the ball.
Tomorrow's games: WE LEAGUE Inac vs Jef 13:00 Mynavi vs Ohmiya 13:30 Albi vs Chifure 14:00 Nojima vs Nagano 15:00 Nadeshiko League Nippatsu vs Nittaidai 13:00 Yamato vs Cerezo 13:00 Setagaya vs Ange Violet 14:00 Nagoya vs Harima 14:00 Nadeshiko League 2 JFA vs NORD 11:00 Bunnys vs Shizuoka 12:00 Anclas vs Kibi 12:00
I feel sorry for Masuya. She never got enough opportunities last season at INAC and judging from preseason and their game against Chifure I was really excited for her to become a core player for a really entertaining team. Don't know how severe her injury is but it looked like her knee and to not hear anything from the club for this long isn't really reassuring.
It looks like the WE League website is now publishing the scoresheets of the matches in English: is it a new thing? I hadn't noticed them in the previous weeks, despite the fact that I was just looking for something of the kind. Anyway, they come in very handy (and they include the info about possible PK goals I was previously looking for).
If the kick off is anything to go by Nojima mean to attack edit...how about Nagano's merry go round tactics at C.K's edit...a bit puzzled about Sunday Lopez role...technically she doesn't look that good but Nojima seem reluctant to take advantage of her considerable height advantage
39 mins....seems the coach is not overly impressed either...she's off....(couldn't see any obvious injury but you never know) edit H.T....Nojima 0 Nagano 0....could go either way imo...(don't you just love live footie)
