This doesn't bode well. If Bruce leaves, so will LD. Keane likely goes too. So, going from one of the greatest teams ever assembled in MLS looking at adding to our record Cup count, to 2 years later with no additional Cups and in a total rebuild... It hasn't actually happened yet though. I'm trying to hold it together...
He may have learned that he was not in line to ever take over LAG. Can't blame a guy for wanting a shot at the top job somewhere.
I don't think we can begrudge Sarachan leaving if he's been offered a top gig somewhere, even LAFC. The LA Times article mentions him not having a specific offer but I'm sure he's got some irons in the fire.
Damnit. No more of AJ's fake wolf scares vid clips http://www.lagalaxy.com/post/2016/06/17/again-aj-delagarza-keeps-scaring-dave-sarachan-fake-wolves
Honestly why would Sarachan leave if Bruce was staying as head coach? He would still have a chance to be Galaxy HC someday. To me this screams Bruce is not re-signing, and Sarachan already knows he won't be head guy. Galaxy may have already selected Onolfo or someone else. Best case for us is Bruce is kicking himself upstairs.
Maybe Bruce told him he's signing on for several more years as HC?(fingers crossed). I think if Bruce was leaving for the NT, he would take his crew with him. So I take this as more of a sign that Bruce is staying. I was hoping kicking himself upstairs would be worst case. Man, this is too much worrying too early for me.
LA Times story - Sarachan http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-galaxy-sarachan-20161116-story.html
If this were to be true that the Gs really are interested in Lampard, it may just lead me to start looking at what LAFC has to offer. A signing of Lampard will just lead me to have to believe that there's no point in wasting time and energy on a club that just doesn't seem to care and resting on its first to five laurels.
I'm in the same boat - maybe not LAFC but I'll go somewhere else if I have to. I just want to see a team playing with heart and playing some good soccer again. Last seasons team was no fun to watch or cheer for. I can take the losses - hell I stuck with the team through 2007-2008 - but I need to at least see some fighting spirit and have hope the FO is working toward improvement. The repeated ditching of talented, give-their-all-for-the-Galaxy players like Sarvas and Juninho and even Penedo and replacing them with old players who have no history with the club kind of spoils everything for me.
If we're going to sign old English midfielders, can we sign Michael Carrick? he at least fills a position we need, plus he can actually still play at a high level.
Big names leaving Arena return questionable Coaching staff changes. Draft coming up. There's just one thing to do here. I hereby name @TrickHog as head of the LAG transition team.
http://www.espnfc.com/united-states...cements-for-jurgen-klinsmann-for-year-sources That's the first I've heard that he signed a two-year extension, but it's apparent it wouldn't matter if he were offered the USMNT job since he would leave that. I just want to get this resolved so that someone can focus their attentions fully on the Galaxy. I don't really think Klein is up to the personnel side.
Heard it here first. Yes or No predictions? 1. Bruce retakes the National team, takes Kenny with him. (announcement imminent.) 2. Sarachan announced as LAFC head coach, takes Noonan with him. 3. Onalfo announced as Galaxy head coach. 4. Keane, Gerrard (back to UK somewhere) and Landon says goodbye again...as a player. 5. Landon joins Galaxy coaching staff .
I always had assumed that Sarachan would retire when Arena retired. Apparently he wants another shot at head coach, but then why wouldn't he have left earlier? Alternatively, maybe he thought Arena would retire and he would inherit the team, but now Arena has re-signed so that option is gone.
