7-2 in the 44th minute on an own goal......UNBELIEVABLE. Final

I still bet at least one of the big 2 japanese soccer rags puts Urawa and their 3-1 win on the cover instead of 5 goal Ganaha or the Yokohama win versus Kashima.

Urawa was the TV game again.........it was impressive to see the 2002 packed full.

    6 - 1 Gamba over Cerezo.
Hat-trick for Fernandinho and a 5 minute hat-trick for Alves...

ALL Bargay's teams (especially Chelsea, Liverpoo, Assenal,) Juventus from Italy, and any other NON-BRASILEIRO club-friendly countries, should take a look at the Gamba match, on March 12, 2006.

Magno Alves, former Fluminense player, and former K-league player, scored a Hat Trick, in less than six minutes :p .

Fernandinho, who NEVER scored a Hat Trick in his career, before, got one, on March 12, 2006.

THIS IS WHY LIVERPOO DIDN'T REPEAT, IN THE 2006 CL, AND WHY CHELSEA GOT KNOCKED OUT OF THE CL, NO BRASILEIROS, IN THOSE CLUBS.

Chelsea had a chance to buy a decent BRASILEIRO (Daniel Carvalho,) but they passed him up.

I was there along with a crowd of 30,000. Once again, more proof that my Cerezo team is the premier dysfunctional team in all of Asia!

Relegation Zone, not Relegated. Sheesh it's only the 2nd week, Cerezo isn't relegated yet!

I assume that's meant to be sarcasm? Relegation zone isn't terribly good at any stage of the season :p

The great news is that Magrao and da E-FU MARINOS are lightin it up! somewhat disturbing for us stat geeks is that out of the top 10 goal scorers so far, there are only TWO JAPANESE in the top ten, albeit one of which is tied for the lead. Hopefully there will be a better balance as the year goes.
What was the deal with the attendance at the Orange Derby between Omiya and Niigata? Not even 10,000 and at the Saitama?
    E-FU MARINOS!

Today's attendance looked pretty bad. Tokyo and Yokohama did not even break 20K. Gamba was around 8K...:(

Ouch, those attendances don't sound good, what are they normally like? I thought that the crowds were much larger than that but they seem more on par with the A-League crowds... which isn't good for a league as developed as that. I trust it was simply an off weekend?

As in MLS the weather (of the cold nature) keeps fans away early in the season. I saw a few days ago Yamagata had like 240+ volunteers shovelling snow in the stands so that supporters could , well, be supporters (once again that Japanese work ethic:) ). In season's past even if there was cold weather, the crowds would still show up better than this weekend. Nontheless, there's going to be some interesting stories this year with the strikers. I reiterate that it would be nice to see more Japanese strikers up there with the foreigners (and this is coming from a beikoku-jin!). I'm eager to see how Wesley and my boy Marques do against Grampus.

The brazilians are always the top goalscorers in J1 :(
I suppose we should thank them, J League may well be alot more unaventfull without them
