It seems Fab is similar but slightly more defensive minded? Even though Klopp doesn't like a true DMFer, I think its a great option to have someone who can do that job well (I hope). IMO, much better to put on a proper DMF when trying to close out a game than bring on Klavan as a third CB ........
Very exciting signing. Fabinho was crucial to Monaco winning the French league and making the Champions League semi final. Klopp said he likes his versatility, but I think he will play as the holding midfielder. Looks like we will have an entirely new midfield with Fabinho, Keita, and Fekir (who will be next if you believe rumors). This is how you build a deep squad. Buy players for the starting lineup and turn your current starters into squad depth. Henderson, Milner, Wijnaldum, Ox, and Lallana give us tons of options. Our midfield went from a weakness to a strength instantly. Enjoy Turin Emre Can. You won’t be missed. We are also more versatile in formations we can play. Fabinho can play in a midfield 2 with Keita which would allow us to play with 4 fowards like we did in the final game against Brighton. The other brilliant thing is how quickly this got done. Klopp has a clear plan and he is going to get his targets in. It’s also nice to hear that Man United are pissed that they didn’t sign him.
Very tasty signing and I am looking forward to seeing version 2.0 of our midfield next year. I also love how it just happened with no leaks.
I think we will miss Emre, but we've found a suitable replacement. Let's remember this was worth a crucial 2 points to get us in the Champions League.
you could see something like this next year GK Back 4 ......Henderson/Fabiano ..Naby ..... ...........Salah ....mane...fekir .................Firmino.................. oxlade as the primary sub across the three line, Very fluid
I'd see it more as: GK TAA ..... Lovren ..... VvD ..... Robertson Fabinho Keita ................................. ............................... Fekir Salah ....... Firmino ....... Mane Definitely a lot of interchanging between front four. Mane tends to drop deeper, so interchanging a lot with Fekir. Also Fekir/ Keita advancing into vacated space when Firmino drops deep. Main subs for front six: Henderson, OxC, Wijnaldum, Milner (Lallana, Solanke, Wilson, Woodburn, Ings) (based only on who is actually at the club now + Fekir) ps His name is Fabinho!

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that talks are ongoing between Liverpool and midfielder Fabinho over a new contract. The Brazilian arrived from Monaco for around £40million in 2018 and established himself as a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s side. And while Romano has also revealed that the midfielder turned down an offer from Spain last summer, he is keen to remain at Anfield.
