When: Sunday, October 8th, 2017 From 6PM to 10PM Where: Chicago Cultural Center, Preston Bradley Hall, 78 E. Washington St, Chicago Tickets: https://section8.ticketleap.com/ On Friday night, the Chicago Fire Foundation held a Casino Night, bringing back some alumni in an event billed as the club’s “20th Season Celebration”. While we applaud the club’s efforts to continue recognizing its past, the October 8th Committee would also like to avoid any confusion that was created by this event occurring, as the actual supporter-driven Chicago Fire 20th Anniversary Celebration is still on the docket for October 8th at the Chicago Cultural Center. The Committee has already confirmed that Ring of Fire member Lubos Kubik, 2013 MLS MVP Mike Magee as well as long-time Chicago Fire veterans Diego Gutierrez and Gonzalo Segares will be present at this year’s event, with many more alumni announcements to occur leading up to the 20th Anniversary Celebration. This year’s event is modeled off the highly successful 15th Anniversary Celebration, where the October 8th Committee brought back over 30 former players and staff to celebrate the club’s rich legacy with its supporters, as well as the entire first team in 2012. Along with having Lubos Kubik, Diego Gutierrez and Gonzalo Segares in attendance, the 2012 attendees included Ring of Fire members Piotr Nowak, Chris Armas, Frank Klopas, Ante Razov and Peter Wilt, 1998 Double winners Jesse Marsch and Zach Thornton, 1994 European Player of the Year Hristo Stoichkov and three-time U.S. World Cup veteran Brian McBride. This year’s aim is to at least match that effort, with a special view towards returning as many members of the 1998 team as possible. Check out a video recap of the event below, as well as coverage of the special night from The Chicago Tribune. Just like in 2012, tickets are priced at $97 (in honor of the club’s founding in 1997) and include a premium open bar, hor d'oeuvres and the ACTUAL opportunity to mingle with a number of Fire Legends. Stay tuned to http://chicagofire20th.com and our social accounts @FireAnniversary on Twitter and Facebook for updates on Chicago Fire alumni that are scheduled to attend the 20th Anniversary Celebration, future fundraising events and ways you can help make October 8th, 2017 another memorable night for the Fire community.
If you missed 2012, you missed a great night that was far too short to contain all it was possible to do. Two of my highlights: I was about to head down the stairs when Hristo Stoitchkov entered, alone. I gave him a snappy salute, and he returned a cooly formal salute like a Soviet field marshal. I snapped a grainy, underexposed photo of then MLS head coaches Piotr Nowak & Jesse Marsch having an intense discussion in a closed doorway partially hidden by a screen.
Ill not go again. the last time I completely embarrassed myself by mistaking Denis Hamlett for Zach Thornton.

So I bought three tix online. What's the deal? Do I get tickets in the mail or is my name on a list or what?
It does not appear that tickets are $97. Was that a specific advance price and the "regular" price is $125? Strangely, the description states: Tickets to the Fire’s 20th Anniversary event are $97 in advance, and include: - Entrance to the event—and chance to mingle with Fire legends! - Four-hour open bar, including wine, beer and liquor - Buffet - Silent Auction - Fire memorabilia exhibition But when one clicks on the purchase button, it comes up $125, plus the service fee.
