I ordered one (1) ticket for a friend that is going as well, we put Cat I (but checked for any other levels if no Cat I's left) for the three first round matches. Our order was also in the 7:00 am FedEx batch and our confirm # is: 81xx
Sorry, I've been off-line & trying to fix my email problems most of the day. My time was 5:06 PM EST, which should be 4:06 PM CT, which dovetails nicely with some other "3" series confirmation #s.

Pardon my stupidity but what's your conclusion from this? That they had received 8500 orders by mid-day Tuesday??? I'm highly doubtful that there is that much demand outside of the tempest-in-the-bigsoccer-teapot. I also doubt that they could process that many that fast.
People were told that the numbering was random. If you see the correlation between times orders were faxed or delivered via Fedex, you can see that there is an obvious numbering system. After knowing that this is first-come, first-serve, it all makes sense. We just have to figure out what the numbers represent, whether they mean 7000 applicants or 7000 tickets.

Only about 4 - 5 if you want to be generous - entries are obviously out of place. At 28/32 that is 87.5% ordered by time. If you choose 27, that is 84.3%. That is such a high number I can't buy that these aren't based on the order in which they were received, whatever the standard deviation may be. And that 85xx is the only one discounting MinnesotaScouser's theory that the 2nd digit has something to do with the sort of tickets you applied for.
There's probably some typos or some mildly inaccurate info in here somewhere, so I'd though out outliers. To me, the last # there maybe is an outlier. That would leave the other 30 as all having the 2nd digit be 0-3. Very interesting. Makes MinnesotaScouser's theory seem plausible. But then why would the first # be part of a increasing series and the 2nd # not?!? The code ain't quite cracked yet, but we're getting there.
I can't imagine they took all those orders and we dont have ONE 7xxx poster on here. My first guess is that they might have thrown out any faxes sent after midnight, taking only fedexes/UPSes after that?
I got a reciept at 61XX. No idea at what time it was faxed in. But I did also fax the next morning (on a different number they had given, but they said they weren't taking any more faxes) at 3am, so I guess that would make my official time Take me along guys.
Bummer if true since I got a fax through Tuesday afternoon and not my DHL until Wednesday at 10am. This will be a crappy night if both the Quakes move and I don't get World Cup tickets. I'm going to bed.
For what it's worth (in the name of gathering more info) my 80xx was 2 tickets each for all three group matches.
I don't know what the demand really is but your second point about it being doubtful that they could "process" that many orders seems bogus to me. If they are getting the faxes by computer, how hard is it for the computer to automatically give each completed fax a confirmation number? Then you have some staffers just slap a confirmation on each Fedex. Doesn't seem too time consuming to me. It isn't like they are saying that the forms are valid or assigning them tickets.
My confirmation # - 82xx My FedEx arrived at 7:09 am and I requested 2 tickets for all 3 of the group matches.
