Well, Walmart bought "supermercados unidos" from CR and some other supermarkets in centroamerica..... Is this going to be good for us? who knows... I just remember the southpark episode when they had their own walmart.... Nos americanizan [agringan] hermanos!
Claro que va ser bueno para los que tienen dinero pero la mayoria de la gente en nuestros paises no tienen y esto afectara a los que tienen sus negocios. No se puede competir con una compania internacional.
Hahahaha it's possible, but this could create more jobs where it's needed. I wonder what would be the starting salary for a walmart in Guatemala and the rest of central america?? they would probably vary.
actually that was not a joke, walmart is stronger than the whole CA! I guess thay are gonna pay around $300 for the easiest job, the minimun salary in CR is 125.000 colones, that is like $250-270, 40 hours Do you know what it is in guateland?
Very low, it's like 1135 Quetzales a month or roughly $150. $260 for 40 hours a week in CR??? In the US the minimum wage is around $7 and for 40 hours a week that would equal $280 a week.
I worked 4 months in Idaho getting $6 per hour, plus tips, sometimes I made more cash in tips than in my salary But it does depend in the state you are
people that thinks that walmart will bring benefits to people in central america are stupids... come on open your eyes... walmart sucks
Sum people arn't as fortunate as you , sum people have been living on this much for years and do as best they can . My ex-wife used to work for BMG records as a music promoter in Panama she had an office in a building right on the beach w/an ocean view 10 years ago and was making $600 a month ,wich was alot and still is in C. America. i doubt Wal-mart will be a success in this region therre are many more stores that sell che3aper stuff . i hope wal-mart fails in this area it will copete directly with the locally owned busineses . and create more de-facto slaverly conditions
Just remember that the cost of living is different in every country. 150$ in Guatemala is not 150$ in the US. Here in Switzerland the minimum salary is more than 2500$ a month, which means you live a pretty modest life, I mean it's not possible to compare that with most countries.
