It will now be interesting to see how fans react at the box office. Certain locales were in trouble before, like Carolina and Florida; the lockout didn't help matters at all...

I hope for the league's sake that they get most of their fan base back. Speaking for myself, I used to be a die hard hockey fan, but have since discovered a new found love for soccer. I dont think I will ever follow hockey as closely as I used to.

damage is done though... I was (and notice the WAS) a big hockey fan, including a big Fantasy Hockey guy and personally it's gonna take some time before I'm "back" again as a big fan

I don't care. Call me if the leafs are in the semi's, otherwise I'll just focus on futebol. Not saying I won't watch the regular season but I won't watch every game that's for sure.

I was a huge hockey fan, but it will be a long while before I set foot in any arena to watch an NHL game...for me it is dead...

I will continue to support the Leafs, as I have always done, but my love for Sporting is much, much greater now than it has ever been...I am a Sportinguista first and foremost, and everything else follows behind.

This is a soccer board it should come as no surprise what sport takes precedent. After the NHL (both sides) crapped all over the fans they expect everyone to be greatful

oooh a fulham fan, the fulham boards have been so empty ever since FulhamUSA.com opened.
Come on you white's (unless Boa leaves)

There's a highly rated junior prospect that may be portuguese - Tavares is his last name.

He's 16 and about 6'1" and 220lbs...not your typical portuguese kid.

They've heard of Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

Imagine a line with Nash, Crosby and Stillman?

What are the leafs going to do with that payroll.. , If the cap is 38 million and the leafs are at 66 million, that means Toronto has gotta get rid of 28 million dollars in players. If I was a leaf fan i'd be pissed.

In terms of small market teams and the fans, here is one to think about. The Raleigh paper (where the Hurricanes play) had a poll for the last week about how people in the area felt. 75% didn't care if hockey returned at all. Other then the one playoff year where they went to the finals they have a hard time getting 10,000 people in the stadium. This is not a good sign.
