Once you have a list of options, you have to click on that option first, then a "pronouncer" option will be available.
I thought that you knew how to pronounce libre Iougs? :D

OK, thanks. I thought that was how it pronounced, but the phoenetics in the book made it seem different.

    Hmmmm...

I hesitate between "patate" and "foi gras"
I suppose that's not a very good sign...
Maybe we could start a game: "Guess the word!"
    :p

Edit: ok, ok, I got it..."paradigmatique", right?
The trick for me, on this computer at least, is to
save the file (right-click on the link, "save link as").
It's a .wav file which then is audible when played on
    its own...

Bretagne is not a rainy place ! This is a lie, an outrageous blackmail ! Let's look at scientific evidences :

True, at least we're not the rainiest place in France, yet I think there is less sunshine days per year than the average. Anyway, I won't complain, our milder temperatures in summer makes Brittany even more attractive now. Italians come here to get cooler air, and frankly I don't mind a healthy 25°C compared to 40°C, much more bearable.

November to February are a pain in the ass though, we don't have too much freezing temperatures, but this is so damp, we don't see the light. Haaa, March is such a relief ! Plus, where I live, it's totally dead in winter time, nobody, sometimes it's cool but even for a monk like myself, it's just too...dead.

IS the pool actually used (talking about the one along the shore in St Malo)? That's what I want to know, Sir.

The one we see on the left of the picture ? Yes, absolutely, it just retains the sea water when the tide is low but given how far the sea withdraws in this area, it can prove to be useful. And of course, it's safer if you have to watch your kids.

BTW, I live in the Saint-Malo region, not exactly where the picture has been taken. I often go there (Intra-Muros, the old city) though.

The beach where's located the pool (Bon Secours) reminds me of high school, our 'playground' was the whole city (my high school was close to the church, just in front of the tribunal...) and we were allowed to go wherever we wanted at lunch break. That means, yeah, we could go to the beach !!

    Terrible times...

i did a year at aix-en-provence, and you can't get any better than that. aixois who die and go to heaven must get awfully homesick.

the fac de lettres there is the same crazy experience as elsewhere; the first month or so is just a weeding out period, once the less than serious students stop going to class it becomes more rewarding, there were some great profs. i also did half of my courses at the Institut d'Etudes Françaises pour Etudiants Etrangers and it was very cushy, but again with some great profs, including a goncourt winner. the IEFEE is a made to measure experience for foreign students who want to soak up fun and culture w/o headaches. enjoy.

actually lille is a lovely city. i go to valenciennes occasionally for work, and there are some interesting things to see there, vestiges of past glory, but the urge to hang yourself starts after about 48 hours...

Haven't but I'll look for it, that's for sure.

I had seen "L'auberge Espagnole" when it
was released here, liked it a lot and looked for
more of his movies (Cédric Klapisch).
So I saw "Un air de famille" (excellent, based on
a play so it's mostly about dialogues, great acting,
etc) and "Ni pour, ni contre (bien au contraire)"
(loved this one too) and...I have been a "Klapisch fan"
    ever since.

    Good stuff.
