Smart compliant people can’t live in a bubble. The problem is dumb people can easily infect people that is doing everything safely and occupy a bed that might be needed by someone who is more at risk. The only way around the current spike that is happening in half the states is to close down a lot of businesses again. But you know Trump and republican governors will not do it unless shit really goes overboard. And we’re not so far from it:
#VILLAVICENCIO Cuarta división del Ejército reportó el día de hoy 36 casos de COVID-19 en 35 soldados profesionales y un funcionario de salud. #ReporteCOVID19 pic.twitter.com/BRCUCvMXQ1— Reporte COVID-19 🇨🇴 (@ReporteCOVID19) June 23, 2020
you can’t be closed forever. idoit Republicans didn’t want to close now 3-4 months later they are going to be o... let’s close for another 1-2 months people who don’t want to listen to science and listen to “facts” they agree with them I have no sympathy for them.
New #FactChecker --> Trump keeps saying Obama left him ‘no ventilators.’ The number is 16,660. https://t.co/HcFZwBW6Ct— Glenn Kessler (@GlennKesslerWP) June 25, 2020

A couple of months ago I bit my tongue and held back as a poster in Connecticut of all places (an area that had huge increasing numbers even at the time) wanted to both sides a pandemic and the response to it from national level politicians. It meant nothing to the MAGA poster that Biden had previously put out warnings and made statements about a proper national level response since Trump and Biden are the same and senile according to the alt-right websites and people that the person references. FFS, the poster didn't even understand the difference between the pulpit of a President, a candidate for President and a Senator.
Wait another week: Our weekly WORLD UPDATE: I‘m for Brazil 🇧🇷, for Mexico 🇲🇽, for America 🇺🇸, for Chile 🇨🇱, for Peru 🇵🇪, and for the world. BREAKING: #60Minutes investigation reveals Trump knowingly allowed flawed #COVID19 antibody tests to circulate, leading to inaccurate data about virus spread, creating data to support re-openings, and potentially causing thousands more preventable deaths. https://t.co/n2dpGcklyu— Richard Hine (@richardhine) June 27, 2020

Orange Carnage: The biggest change in the data is in the number of COVID-19 patients who are currently hospitalized. With the addition of Florida's 7k hospitalizations, we’re now over 51,000. We have not seen those numbers since the first week of May—and they do not seem likely to decline soon. pic.twitter.com/tRvO4ypKGF— The COVID Tracking Project (@COVID19Tracking) July 10, 2020 From June 10 to July 10, these five states have seen generally rising cases and steadily increasing hospitalizations. pic.twitter.com/FVvJQLX0f7— The COVID Tracking Project (@COVID19Tracking) July 10, 2020
A high school sophomore is currently in a Michigan juvenile detention center for not doing her online schoolwork during the pandemic. Yes, you read that correctly. I spent time in Michigan learning about Grace and her case. This is her story: https://t.co/e6CmA4ogqw— Jodi Cohen (@Jodiscohen) July 14, 2020
I had hoped it was a glitch, but no...The @CDCgov hospital capacity dashboard has gone dark. @CDCDirector has said CDC still has access to the data but apparently the public no longer does. pic.twitter.com/FyRt7YHvKc— Charles Ornstein (@charlesornstein) July 16, 2020
Florida man strikes again: Florida can’t even keep its emergency operations center open without COVID-19 spreading and they want kids to attend in-person classes? Desantis needs to resign.https://t.co/XElmG1FMSa— Thomas Kennedy (@tomaskenn) July 17, 2020 So South Carolina tries to match: Today Gov @henrymcmaster decided to trump our State Supt. Molly Spearman, parents, teachers & public health experts across SC by scrapping the painstaking work of accelerateSC and accelerateED by announcing “ALL schools must reopen…for FULL 5 day-a-week IN-PERSON instruction.”— Mia McLeod (@MiaforSC) July 16, 2020 And Georgia ups its game too! This is why we can't have nice things. Kemp is going to court on the pretext of helping small business survive. What about the survival of real people? Let me say it again: Kemp is suing to prevent #COVID precautions. #COVIDIOTS https://t.co/x9ljXyEEyi— 𝕃𝕠𝕔𝕦𝕥𝕦𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝔹𝕠𝕣𝕘™ (@WildPalmsLtd) July 17, 2020
