I've never taken the Espies seriously. But achievement deserves recognition, and Lemieux's remarkable comeback from cancer was neglected in favor of someone with a greater presence in TV commercials. It's not one of the world's great injustices, but it's not right, either. And by the way, I might be thinking of a different award than the Espy. Maybe the Sporting News' Comeback Player of the Year award. In any case... Jordan was less deserving the Lemieux
