I came into these boards expecting posters to be freaking out regarding Rooney's injury. There's no such thing as "minor" ligament injury and IMO Rooney is out for rest of season and he's not going to be 100% for WC.

This really puts the title race on a razor's edge. Any thoughts? How are you handling the news?

    not for faint of heart

I'm not sure how I'm coping. I only just dragged myself from the corner of the room balled up in the fetal position to make this post.

We're all freaking out cause we are a one man team. In fact, we've been a one man team for a decade.

By the way, who is Wayne Rooney again??

I imagine Rodrigo Possebon helping us retain the ball for 25 minutes straight against a hard pressing Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Im afraid hes our only solution....UNLEASH HIM FERGIE!.....Speaking of which, and as Invincible mentioned Possebon as a retainer, I think that maybe Obertan would do well as a retainer, attacking midfielder in the future, like in a riquelme role. Ive just thought about it, and I havent seen him lose the ball once in all the times ive seen him play.

I've been running around flailing arms in despair non-stop for the past 3 days. It actually got me in a better shape than I've ever been in, so it looks like this is the strategy I would use trying to cope with all of our injuries.

As long as the scenario ends with him "resting" through the world cup and coming back at full strength in the fall, I can accept just about anything with respect to his involvement in the current run in.

That being said, my baby has both developed a bald spot and shaved her head in solidarity with Rooney.

    Vodka.

I'm coping with copious amounts of Sir Robert Burnett's 7 dollar vodka.

And some "wine in a can."
