Hopefully all the tightness/arch cramping will go away once broken in' - this was in response to asking if the Superfly Elastico softened up. appleCORR
Like a lot of you I absolutely love the hv1. I have the wc edition, launch edition in the Orange/black, reflective pack, and now a blackout pair of ID's. However have any of you noticed the difference in the uppers? My ID's and the reflective pack uppers are noticeably thicker and less pliable. Also on the inside, the felt feeling inside has holes throughout it on the wc's and the Orange/black ones but not the ID's and reflective pack?
As a former Total90 user I didn't feel comfortable with the HV1. The upper was way too "loose" for my liking. I doubt the HV2 will change that. It's a shame Nike doesn't have a proper power boot in their line-up at the moment. The models they currently have are way too similar.
I felt the same way at first. The upper is too soft for such a wide lasted boot. But the HV 1 has grown on me quite a bit. I actually enjoy the outsole. At times I do miss the pre-laser total 90, although I did enjoy the laser 4. But with the exception of puma and mizuno, power boots have all but been phased out. A lot of it comes down to the consumer; the total 90 sales were probably lacking and that showed Nike a change was needed. I know the HV has been extremely successful since launch
So got the Xs, after one session there's a slight tear in the toe. Didn't rip all the way through but there's a slight separation with the outsold. Is this enough for a voucher?
Don't you dare send that in unless that is a hole. Sole separation at the lip is common and rarely a functional flaw. Boots will wear.....be realistic.
I swear they don't accept it if you use the boots on the wrong surface ( I assume they aren't turf boots from looking at the studs)
They're that strict? I've had friends send them in many times and we always play on turf. It's a deep indent where the hole is, it can even store turf it's that deep. This is not normal after one hour
I agree that they shouldn't wear like that after one hour, its poor! Just not sure if they'd take them back, hopefully they would
A bit of separation is is not a hole and it's unlikely to become one as the material that constitutes the upper wraps well under the lip and into the region of the outsole/midsole. TBH, the photo isn't great....it looks like it could be a pellet stuck in the superior portion of the outsole lip. You are describing the potential for "creep" which is something slowly being stressed and wearing out/failing. My suggestion is to stop nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking, wear the boots, enjoy them and if they fail replace them. Becoming neurotic over a bit cosmetic damage to a product that you kick things with is very, very silly. On the other hand, if that is a real hole in the upper or a legit split in the material, its a fault that should be covered.
On the topic of Nike Warranty, is this enough grounds? 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch tear that goes straight through.
^ I had a pair of HVs accepted that had a hole similar to that in a different spot on the upper. If you can see you finger through the hole I would send them back and give it a shot. Holes like this in the upper are abnormal IMO.
