If anybody's curious, it looks like http://www.kickoffnigeria.com/static/news/article.php?id=1460 will have live minute-by-minute updates of today's women's Olympic qualifier between Nigeria and Ghana. A draw will see Ghana through to Beijing, while a Nigeria win will qualify the Nigerians for the Olympics.

Right now, Ghana are 3-0-0 (W-D-L), while Nigeria is 2-0-1, but Nigeria's goal differential is better (+5 versus +3). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_at_the_2008_Summer_Olympics_-_Women%27s_qualification

The game begins at 11 a.m. ET (4 p.m. in Abuja, Nigeria).

Whoever finishes second will still be alive, however, and will play Brazil for a spot in the Olympics.

Sorry, they changed the link. Here is the correct link: http://www.kickoffnigeria.com/static/news/article.php?id=1468

"It's time for the big game! The 60 000 capacity stadium is all but empty although the fans are trickling in. Ghana have come with a noisy contingent and it is their drums that we can hear frfom the media tribune. Thats because they are right in front of us, while the Nigerian fans are away on the opposite end."

"Off the pitch, the traveling fans from Ghana have caused a spectacle with their singing, dancing and drumming, much unlike the Nigerian supporters club, who could not account for more than 10 people."

1-0 Nigeria around the middle of the second half.

Looks like Nigeria's going to the Olympics, while Ghana will have an extremely tough match-up with Brazil sitting between itself and Beijing -- Nigeria just scored again. It's 2-0, probably around the 90th minute.

Just realized that I should have visited the Women's Soccer section - they had a lively thread up and going there. Oh well.

The score is final. Nigeria advances, while Ghana will play Brazil. That game will take place on April 19 in Beijing, according to a post on that other thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=14119144#post14119144
