File this under slightly obscure, but I came across this youtube video about an apparent little yank in France. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1fh5h1gfYg"]YouTube- Nicholas PERGINI‎[/ame] Anyway the description provides all the details, translated from french: "I present to you Nicolas Pergine 10 years, an American came to France to play football. He has a real talent, this video will prove it. He currently plays for Club The AJA Auxerre, and his dream is to become part of the U.S. national team soccer." Short but sweet I suppose, if DMN or anyone can confirm that be great but I thought i'd log it anyway. This is one of my favorite things about being a nat fan, we seem to discover a new kid at a big club almost everyday. For all we know their could be a yank at real madrid, man U etc...
nice work WITGuy, I sent him, or whoever put that video up (maybe his father?) an e-mail asking for more info and I gave him a link to the thread so maybe they will come here with more info. If they e-mail me back I'll just copy and paste.
There's no such thing as too young. Ah shit that sounded so wrong. I wasn't aware we had a minimum age requirement.
Along with 10 Yr old Enric Alegre from Valencia. Pergini and Alegre Lead World Cup Victory in the US in 2022. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=930474 [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFcbl8miMmA&feature=fvw"]YouTube- Enric Alegre - Resum Temporada 2008 - 2009‎[/ame]
We have gone through this before. If you were tracking my ten year old, I would be pretty pissed. It's a fricking 10 year old playing club soccer. Find something a bit more meaningful.
I thought we had an age requriement something about when the websites start tracking the youth players like U-16s. I know a lot of pro clubs have U8s, U10s, etc but they don't post rosters or game reports about them.
Ha, the kid's dad is putting Youtube videos of his son up. I don't think he minds him being tracked. You moralists relax.
I suppose it would be irresponsible to start hyping this kid, or create unfair and/or lofty comparisons so early... Btw, did you guys know Eric Cantona got his start at Auxerre?
Jesus............... We don't need to freak out. Following 10 year olds is so lame it defies any sort of logic.
I looked some things up. Apparently someone named Freddy (sp?) Adu got his start in MLS when he was (get this!) 14!
14 is very different than 10. ~14-15 seems about the right time to start looking at prospects. We have U14 and U15 national teams and camps. We start identifying potential Bradenton kids at that time. Even that's really early.............but at least we could justify the lameness.
1. I can't believe I just watched almost 5 minutes of a 10-year-old juggle. 2. The best part of that video was the music. The first ~2 minute i felt like i was being chased and had action music in the background.
