Re: the NFL issue: The NFL has to take a huge hit by not being in LA when their tv deal renews. This isn't just a theoretical future thing for them. Not being in LA costs them ratings on the national scale which costs them big $.

Its funny with the NFL, in some ways not being in LA is almost a positive. Everytime, one of their owners wants to extort the city they are in for a new stadium they play the move to LA card. It sort of works to their benefit. I agree with you it will be tough for MLS to get a decent tv deal soon but I know they are really working on it for 2007. I believe ownership has given Checketts the task.

It's all about soccer stadiums if the people and officials in SJ had voted to bulid AEG astadium like bridgeview did, there would not be any talk of them moving to Houston. That also goes for any future expansion there it won't happen until a SSS happens.

SAN JOSE FAN has had a team in it's pathetically overpriced, overated, gated community of a city and appearantly only discovered them when AEG, who already saved them from the chopping block once, was entertaining offers of moving them to a place where they can make money.

And how do San Jose Fans reward AEG, for saving their team? Rather than step up and fill their curent stadium and get one of the obscenely wealthy residents of their fair village to step up to the plate, they toss up Tony the Rug Merchant as a smokescreen, keep on with barely a rise in attendance other than when Judas Donovan rolls through town, and piss off every county/state/local official with their "rallies" demanding public support for their team when they can't be bothered to show more than 10K themselves.

The Fire Fans have pretty much already done that, following their team with 12-14K fans as it relocated to a crappy astroturf stadium. The Clashquakes have been in the same place for 10 years and only now decided that it's time to show up, such as they do.

Funny, but I'm exactly the type of fan MLS needs. Out-of-Market fan that adopts a team, spends money to travel to see my team and spends money on my team.

Hell, the Fire has as many out of market fans as San Jose has fans.

Here's a truth to expose another of your 'untruthitudes'. What's the attendance average for Chicago minus that 'real' attendance on April 27th? Umm, under 9,000 - says a lot for your franchise, new stadium or not. I'd be more worried about that if I was you than spending the next 30 minutes trying to sling a few more arrows my way....cue pointless argument about April 27th and all those 'real' fans...
