I think Earnie and Gregg are deeply aware of the team dynamics over 2 cycles. The question for me is can Gregg hold a positive lockerroom when a second cycle will certainly introduce grumbles about favorites, or hurt feelings when he moves on from a player, continues to hold slots for players whonare seldom available, or stick with a "star" though the players form has fallen. Did they learn the lessons from Arena or were they too close to it? Or, now look at Begium and the team cohesion melting away. Circumstances will test the team spirit. A new coach can get a little more patience. It's something to consider.
Read this: https://breakingthelines.com/manager-analysis/the-making-of-peter-bosz/ He’s got a Dutch background which Ernie will like. He likes to play a beautiful game and utilizes counter pressing. He’s spent time working with young players. He’s actually a very good fit.
Interesting article. Thanks. I can see why Earnie would love him. I would worry a bit about the defense, especially because if we want to make a run in 2026, aggressively attacking in the kimonos with a suspect defense is probably a mistake. But I’m sure he’d bring a lot to the offense, and the principles would be consistent.
So now that it's official greg is back for another cycle. I would like to tell u I told u so months ago u should've listened too me.
He certainly plays a very aggressive game plan. However, that’s what everyone’s been begging for. He seems like he could be the guy to do it. His time with youth is a huge plus. He also (outside of Dortmund) took teams that hadn’t had success and got them to the next level. He isn’t perfect. But he’d be the most qualified coach we’ve ever had
No one likes to hear the Messenger of Death. I will tell you now, with 3G's as the manager going forward the 2026 WC will be severely underwhelming, and even with home advantage and luck Berhalter will, maximally, not be any better than Arena 2002. But, hey, maybe we won't have to care about all that, as the near future promises an American scene oh so far more interesting than even FIFA may be able to stomach.
Gregg Berhalter is set to begin discussions on a new contract with the U.S. Soccer Federation, per @JeffreyCarlisle. pic.twitter.com/T9vTxH33aG— USMNT Only (@usmntonly) December 7, 2022
Welcome to the World of Klinsmann or Arena Deux. It's a good thing we don't have to qualify for this next WC. On the other hand, it's a bad thing as it allows Chicago House to not be held accountable for the consequences of its actions until 2026... so plenty of time to do good and enriching things for the fine folk of Chicago House..... The last thing our USSF is interested in is taking seriously the ambition of winning the World Cup.
Tun foil hat time!: GGG….= 666!?!?! Sent to destroy the coming of the most dominate soccer nation on earth??
Negotiations have NOT started between @ussoccer & Berhalter as Stewart said below. #USMNT https://t.co/XYvYh4OYQc— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) December 7, 2022
