Because I can't think of any English candidates who I truly believe have both the ability and experience to do the job at the moment.
Are you sure you are not some kind of troll?? England has produced thousands of players and managers from club teams over the past few decades. I can't believe that there is not a handful of solid candidates from that bunch. It defies logic. There should be many candidates. No manager is going to whip England around in 12 months and turn them into a Brazil, France, etc.
latched onto another thread have we ,wildman?? get the feeling that another thread is gonna degenerate into complete shit.. I think we'll stick with eriksson for now... is that OK??? eh eh eh
Good heavens Sinner. I am FOR an English manager should Erikson leave or get pushed out. There should be plenty of quality candidates out of the huge pool of talent that has been produced over the last 30 years. I just think it's silly to say that there is not a well qualified English candidate.
oooh really?? we'll worry about any possible candidates when the time comes eh... There is nothing to concern yourself with at the moment. eriksson is boss until someone decides otherwise.. That should be pretty clear (even for people of low intelligence).
Seriously I can't think of a suitable English manager around at the moment. Were Sven to quit after Euro 2004 I think we would really struggle to find a good English replacement. The last English manager to win the league was Howard Wilkinson! Joe Royal was the last English Manager to win the FA Cup. I don't think either of these fit the bill. I count 10 English managers in the Prem, 2 of whom have done the job before. Of those I would say that the only possibles are: Steve Bruce Alan Curbishly Steve maclaren Harry Redknapp None have won a trophy, the highest any have finished in the league I am guessing is 6th?? Did uncle Harry get West Ham to 6th place. Steve Bruce looks best placed at the moment. If you give him say 4 or 5 years maybe he'll gt a chance at a bigger club (Newcastle or even Manchester United). Then maybe he'll be ready.
Re: del bosque? del Bosque might be considered if there is a shortage of money because he would do it really cheaply. but i dont think there is a shortage of money!!! why not ferguson????
Re: Re: del bosque? Ferguson would never manage England in a million years it'd be like going over to the Dark Side.
Re: Re: Re: del bosque? pardon me, you said ferguson wouldnt be able but you didnt answer the qustion!! why not? why he wouldnt be able?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: del bosque? and a red-faced tosser He's a great club manager but I don't think International management, even with Scotland let alone England, is his style. It's a very different environment and I think he got turned off it after his earlier effort.
Do you realize that with an exponentially expanded pool of players, England will NEVER have the same squad twice under Claudio? Just picking the starting lineupw would require the combined powers of Nostradamus and Mrs Cleo. Besides, I want him to stay at Chelsea.
