he would have been fired imo just like Paulo bento was fired after we had lost to Albania in euros qualifying .
Jorge Jesus is the only answer. The master. I hope whoever voted Nuno has had a change of heart since. Dude is trash.
Mendes and another porkchop Nelio Lucas from Doyen Group call all the shots in the high finance football world
I just saw some long interview with Ricardo Carvalho on Bein Sports France. Dude speaks some decent French. He was in the staff of André Villas-Boas at Marseille. As we know Villas-Boas is currently without a team. Carvalho said that Villas-Boas is highly interested in coaching a national team someday. He mentioned some South American team or also Japan. Carvalho isn't sure if he would accompany him. Interesting that there was no word of the Seleção. We will see but one would think that Qatar will be the farewell for Santos....
Not gonna lie, Villas-Boas is quite overrated and has fallen off the radar of notable coaches in Europe. He mainly gets more spotlight due to generally being telegenic and presents well in front of the camera. Plus his association of being Jose Mourinho's protege when he was still relevant. But he's spent almost half his coaching career working in places like Russia and China where typically the washed up ones go. AVB also comes from a wealthy family of noble ties in Portuguese history. Frankly, he can probably not come back to full time coaching and focus only on hobbies like motorsports and still be set for life.
Has anyone check the Portuguese National team Instagram? A lot of people in the comment section are expressing how sick they are of Santos.
There's no chance we sack him before the World Cup. I don't even think we'll sack him if we play poorly in that tournament as well and get knockout early. The big boys running the show are still hanging on to Santos' Euro 16 win. The time to move on has been long overdue.
Let Santos coach this last game or until we qualify. Then sack him and give the new coach a fresh start, that’s 13 months to prepare. Plenty of time to turn the team around and stop playing this dire football. In saying that, I can’t think of a single coach who is capable and not under contract.
