Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill believes the comments made by Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger following their 0-0 draw at Villa Park were ‘appalling’. Wenger said that Villa ‘played a very long ball game’, comments that upset O’Neill who believes his team played a much better style than they were labelled with. "If that is what he saw tonight, well that is a ridiculous statement,” O’Neill said. "He has made a few ridiculous statements in his time here (in England) and that is as good as any. That is an appalling insult. "I thought we played splendidly in the game. Their 'keeper made a great save from Gabby (Agbonlahor) early on and Ashley Young produced some incredible balls into the box that just needed a touch on them.
