Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe insists the next three weeks could define the club’s season, one way or another.

Spurs have slightly fallen off the pace with a few undesirable results lately but Defoe says their form has been good and that things can turn for them in the next few matches.

“We’ve been playing so well but maybe we haven’t got the luck that we’ve deserved of late. It’s hard to take but if we continue to play well, hopefully the results will come,” Defoe said.

“You are going to get that pressure. We’ve set that standard now and especially playing at home, teams are going to sit in and make it difficult for us. It’s important to keep focused. I truly believe everything will be okay.

“There are a lot of games coming up but if you prepare right it should be okay. We’ve got a great squad with players who can come in and produce performances so it’s important to prepare right.”

Tottenham take on Fulham at White Hart Lane on Tuesday and Defoe is aware it will be a tough encounter.

“It’s a massive game against Fulham, they are a good team with a great manager. Hopefully we can get all three points,” he added.
