interesting considering they used to show SerieA on GolTV, then Dave Checketts bought GolTV, and now they won't be showing SerieA on GolTV. the worldsoccerdaily folks think Checketts might want to turn GolTV into an MLS network. granted, they infrequently know what they're talking about when it comes to MLS, but who knows.

My read on the Checketts GolTV situation is that through his dealings with MLS he understands the diversity and size of America's soccer fanbase. He knows that the potential to capture the attention of those fans is huge, but that it is not limited to MLS and the domestic game. So he is positioning himself to capitilize on both the fans of the domestic league AND fans of Europe and Latin America. It's very smart. Not to mention the plans for the stadium in RSL have always included some kind of "media studio" as an ancillary development. Clearly, Checketts will want to move GolTV's operations to that studio. Over time, if the viewer is open to it, he will probably attempt to increase the amount of MLS coverage that GolTV carries. But turning it into a 24-hour MLS channel is probably not in the works. IMO.
