    Attention All Girls

    NEW SPORT FOR WOMEN

Introducing this exciting, new women’s sport for the very first
    time in America.

FOOTVOLLEY is as popular as soccer is on Brazilian beaches. It’s
played like beach volleyball, but rather than using your hands, the
players are allowed only to use their head, shoulders, chest, and legs.
It requires soccer ball control and athletic skills. It’s challenging and
competitive, lots of fun, and a great work out.

Our instructor is Rildo Menezes, who played side by side with the
great Pele on the world cup champions Brazilian National Team.

Classes will be conducted on a limited space basis for better learning.
Be the first ones to sign up and learn, and in the future, also teach
this spectacular sport that one day will be part of the Olympics.

Classes are held every sunday 2 p.m. at 8th Street in Hermosa
    Beach, CA.
We are offering a 12 week course that meets once or twice a week. In
addition to the course, there will be opportunities to participate in
mixed double matches to help perfect your skills.

For more information and to sign up, call Carlos at 310-809-1205,
    or email me at womenfootvolley@aol.com.

Our website, www. womenfootvolley.com, is under
construction and will soon be up and running. Check us out for
tournament news, player’s boutique, and sports chat.

Footvolley (or Futvolei) has been played in Brasil for years. When I went to Santos in August, I saw people playing it and was mystified. She then explained that it was a somewhat popular game there and that people had been playing it for many years.

The sport has been around for a long time, it's hardly new. And don't come on to these boards just to advertise your business.

Anyways, let's make this thread useful.

Futevolei is far more challenging and rewarding than those soccer tennis drills some people here may have experienced.

I don't have the kind of skill or touch for the game (especially now that I'm not 100%), but I had a friend who would play on the mall here in DC. Everyone would stop and watch to see this neat game.

Futevolei is definitely a Rio de Janeiro thing, Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon and Barra are filled with people playing futevolei day in and day out.
