On today's MLS telecast of SJ vs. KC, I noticed the Makita tools signboard on the side where MLS official sponser signboards usually are. Could this possibly be a new league wide sponser? I know team/local sponsers have their signs on the goal ends of the field but the Makita sign was along the sideline. Perhaps I am wrong but does anyone have information?

"Makita - official tools of MLS"

I thought Rob and Eric had those jobs.

Are Makita tools sold at Home Depot? If so, that might explain it.

I don't think that's the connection. Rigid is the tool Home Depot primarily advertises (I don't know if they own it), also sometimes Ryobi.

Makita Europe did sponsor the EPL for a while (according to the occasional old clips I've seen on the Highlights/Preview Shows).

Makita is a new SUM partner. I got the email announcement yesterday.

I've noticed AFLAC on some DC United telecasts. Are they local sponsors or national ones?

    Thanks,
