Kim Ho-gon and Kim Hak-bum are the favorites for the Technical Director job. Also, they will have to look for a U-23 manager as well since the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship Qualification kicks off in July with the U-23 facing Macau on the 19th (Shin Tae-yong ).

대한축구협회 관계자는 16일 "차기 기술위원장과 감독을 선임하는데 일반적인 상황보다 빨리 진행될 것이다. 기술위원장은 6월 내, 감독은 7월 중순에 선임해 8월을 넘기지 않도록 할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.

New Technical Director will be appointed this month whilst a new manager will be appointed next month.

 

The 1 year contract (Till 2018) was just a prep talk after the season was over, he was still open for the time being as his contract was already up, and he even rejected a $7 million offer from Jiangsu as well. He rejected the initial contract as he didn't agree with the salary, so he told them to revise the contract, but as of now they've only reached an agreement; all that's left is his signature and he'll be with the club for 2 years till 2019, although it could still be reduced till 1 year.

이어 “일부 축구인이 무소불위의 권력을 행사하며 한국 축구를 마음대로 주무르면서 정몽규 대한축구협회장의 눈과 귀도 막고 있다”며 이용수 부회장이 스스로 사퇴하지 않을 경우 전국적인 단체행동도 적극 고려하겠다고 밝혔다.

Again, as I've been repeatedly saying over and over, every statement regarding the new manager made by Lee Yong-soo is nothing than his own opinion/mindset/agenda, and he's basically trying to shove his agenda down the throat of the next Technical Director, so in other words, put in a puppet and pull the strings behind the curtains.

Not only is there sufficient time to thoroughly search for more candidates, but for someone who turned in his resignation, he has absolutely no right to say anything especially given the fact that he's also responsible for the fcuk ups ever since he became the Technical Director. The +1 extension was rejected by Gunes due to a disagreement with the salary, thus he told the advisors to revise the contract and the club gave him a 2 year deal instead (Which still can be reduced to 1 year.) with a €2.5 million per year salary + €750k championship bonus, €250k once Besiktas makes out of the group stages, €500k for quarter-finals, €750k for semi-finals, and €1 million for winning the UCL or Europa League. Again, despite the negotiations going smoothly, nothing has been signed as of yet, perhaps within the next couple days we'll hear something then.

All of this was to keep Gunes at bay with Besiktas, and the club's owner looks to Gunes like a big brother and mentor. Orman wants to keep Gunes for even longer because of the positive results he's brought for 2 consecutive years. Also, Gunes have been contemplating on whether to stay or leave (Likely to Korea) as he's been stalling in not having signed once the season was finished last month (To which the KFA had all the time to contact him).

Han Joon-hee says that even if there's not enough time, he wants a domestic interim for the remaining two WCQs whilst a foreign manager takes over once and if we qualify.

 

What I've been told is that he had the 2018 FIFA World Cup in mind. Not sure exactly how much he wanted to take the KNT job, but this was perhaps the main reason why Besiktas was afraid of Gunes leaving the club.

익명을 요구한 한 감독은 "차기 대표팀 감독 선임에 있어서 현장 감각이 최우선이다. 현장을 오래 떠나 있으면 감각이 떨어질 수밖에 없다"며 "축구만큼 빠르게 변하는 것도 없다. 매년 다르다. 현장에 있지 못하면 따라잡기 힘들다. 경기에 뛰지 못하는 선수만 그런 것이 아니다. 감독도 감을 잃게 된다"고 주장했다.

또 다른 감독은 "경험이라는 것은 무시하지 못한다. 하지만 경험이 현장감을 이길 순 없는 일"이라며 "경험을 원한다면 현장 감각이 떨어지지 않은 이를 선택해야 할 것이다. 아니면 최종예선 경험이라는 조건을 빼라. 후보군이 많아질 수 있다"고 설명했다.

박 감독도 "차기 대표팀 감독 선임의 가장 중요한 조건은 '현장감'이다"고 힘줘 말했다.

민감한 사안인데도 박 감독은 "내가 가지고 있는 철학을 말하는 것이다. 감독에 있어서 현장감이 가장 중요하다는 것을 말하는데 익명으로 할 필요는 없다"고 당당한 목소리를 냈다.

이유를 자세히 설명했다. 박 감독은 "선수가 경기에 뛰지 못하면 감각이 떨어지는 것처럼 감독 역시 어쩔 수 없는 일"이라며 "경기장 밖에서 경기를 많이 본다고 해서 달라지지는 않는다. 직접 현장에서 지휘하는 것과 차이가 크다"고 말했다.

그는 "나도 1년을 쉬다 현장으로 돌아왔다. 아직 조금은 생소한 부분이 있다"며 "후배 감독들에게 항상 1년 이상 쉬지 말라고 조언을 한다. 사람마다 다르겠지만 1년 넘게 쉬면 현장 감각은 현격하게 떨어진다"고 현장감의 중요성을 강조했다.

김 감독은 <베스트 일레븐>과 가진 인터뷰에서 “한국 축구가 위기다. 그런데 KFA는 항상 자신들의 사람만 기용했다. 한국 축구가 그 카르텔을 깨는 변화를 만들어보고 싶어 기술위원장 자리에 도전한다”라고 말했다. 이어 “‘KFA 사람들’ 말고, 다른 인물이 기술위원장이 되어야만 위기의 한국 축구를 변화시킬 수 있다고 본다. A대표팀 감독도 잘 선임해야겠지만, ‘거수기’와 다를 바 없던 기술위원들이 보다 A대표팀에 보탬이 될 수 있는 상황을 만들고자 한다”라며 포부를 드러내기도 했다.

차기 기술위원장에게 주어진 가장 큰 과제는 A대표팀 사령탑을 선임해야 한다는 것이다. 김 감독은 나름의 계획이 서 있는 듯했다. 김 감독은 “선수들이 오랫동안 대표팀에서 함께 해 온 만큼, 이들을 하나로 응집시킬 수 있는 지도자가 필요하다”라고 말했다. 그러면서 “외국인 감독 선임이 현실적으로 어렵다고 하는데 꼭 그렇지 않다고 본다. 힘들면 국내 감독을 살펴야겠지만, 외국인 감독 선임도 추진할 여지가 있다”라고 말했다. 그리고는 세뇰 귀네슈 베식타스 감독과 신태용 전 한국 축구 U-20 대표팀 감독을 차기 후보자로 거론했다.

김 감독은 “한국 축구를 아는 외국인 지도자가 분명 있다. FC 서울에서 함께 4년을 보낸 바 있는 귀네슈 감독이 대표적이다. 오랫동안 한국과 인연을 맺은 지도자인 만큼 빨리 모신다면 금방 적응할 수 있을 것이다. 게다가 현재 A대표팀에는 기성용 등 자신의 제자들도 있다. 충분히 가능성 있는 시나리오다다”라고 말했다. 만약 귀네슈 감독 등 외국인 지도자 선임이 어려울 경우를 묻자 “소위 팬들에게 ‘욕먹는 지도자’ 말고 아직 때묻지 않은 한국 지도자들도 많다고 본다. 그중 빠른 시일 내에 A대표팀을 수습할 감독은 신 감독이라고 본다”라고 말했다. 또한 김 감독은 귀네슈 감독 체제에서 신 감독을 수석 코치로 기용하는 방안도 괜찮을 것 같다는 견해도 덧붙였다.

사실상 기술위원장을 제외하면 이렇다 할 활동이 없는 기술위원회도 개혁하겠다는 뜻을 내비쳤다. 김 감독은 “팀을 맡은 상황에서 기술위원을 겸직하는 이들이 있는데, 이런 분들은 사실상 회의에 참석하는 데 의의를 둘 수밖에 없다. 기술위원회에 힘을 보탤 인물들이 있는데도 그러지 못해 아쉽다”라고 말했다. 이어 “새 감독과 소통할 수 있는 기술위원회가 가동될 수 있도록 할 것이다. 수시로 정보를 주는 것은 물론, 기술위원회를 통해 감독과 기술위원들이 소통해 더 나은 방안을 만들 수 있도록 하고 싶다”라며 실질적으로 뛰는 기술위원회를 만들겠다는 의지를 보였다.

Too lazy to translate at the moment, but from the first comments that I've posted above, managers including Park Hang-seo are basically saying no to Huh Jung-moo as he's been out of the game for too long; they're saying that presence is a must/important among managers as so the same for players as well.

The second regarding manager Kim Sung-nam, he's running to become the new Technical Director for the KFA. Says that the KFA hires too many of their like-minded people and that new faces (Competent people) should take over instead to bring some change. Wants to hire a foreign manager (Gunes) whilst having Shin Tae-yong as the assistant manager, and adds that he wants to create a Technical Committee that will keep a better communication with the manager in order to find and create a better plan/solution.
