Re: 2011/12 away kit that was English? now you tell me. and just for the record, i don't spend nearly enough time correcting other people's English... thanx so that's his problem...
Re: The New Liverpool Away Kit (Parts 1 and 2) I saw the thread had been started by the infamous Brian Cap. and had to look, didn't realize it was one resurrected from 9 years ago. He was such a dickhead!
Re: The New Liverpool Away Kit (Parts 1 and 2) i purchased that goalie shirt at a sports shoppe in Letterfrack, Ireland, in 1998. i don't think i've had the opportunity to wear it more than twicet, and i'm thinking of trying to flog it off on eBay. is that sacrilege? and how much should it sell for?
Re: The New Liverpool Away Kit (Parts 1 and 2) i paid in Irish pounds, in 1998. i'm guessing with the conversion rate being 1.45, i paid 50$US.
I see the way they look, but can anyone enlighten me about LFC Store's "LFC Personalisation" as opposed to the "Prem Personalisation?" Any significance? Is the Club permitted to wear the "LFC" style this year? Cant imagine Barclays allowing it.
None, just more ways for Adidas and their suppliers to make money. Nope, only in non domestic competition. In previeous years our European shirts had adidas fonts and in the last year adidas started making team specific fonts. If you saw pictures from chelskis CL jerseys from last year they had some old school shadow numbers. We had those ghastly yellow numbers on our black kit.
I thought we also used the LFC Font* for FA Cup ties, as well. *which, frankly, is terrible. It has such a 1970's Fantasy Heavy Metal feel that it makes the Liverbird look like a dragon holding buried treasure and a damsel in distress
You're correct (we're using the adidas font, ManU is using the Prem font): I was under the impression that you had to use the Premiership font for FA Cup ties, since most Premier League teams seem to do that (and Football League clubs use that ugly font), but I guess you don't have to.
My bad, I guess the BPL is the only one with the restrictions then, and now that i see that picture I'm still not sold on that font...
Me either. Especially if thinking of ordering a Suarez shirt. The 7 looks like a broken 2 (exactly as if the 2 were lacking its tail). The retro look clashes with the very modern look of the away kit. I only know this bc LFC Store screwed up my order. Costs associated with fixing it are on me.
The question is, without European competition this year, is adidas going to bother with alternate fonts? In other years, it made sense to have separate number styles available, but I think we'll be using the PL font for all competitions like most clubs in the league.
Slightly OT but for a new look the US ladies WC kit looked good. Not a lot of room in front for sponsor logos though.
Re: 2011/12 away kit I read somewhere on this board about a new kit deal by a company named "Warrior" or something. What happened with that?
