I know this board has a number of Grant Lee fans. Just a heads up that his new album -- Virginia Creeper -- will be released internationally on 2/17/04, and in the US a week later on 2/24/04. At Grant's site you can listen to a new song each week. I've followed Grant's career since Mighty Joe Moon came out, and this is classic, vintage stuff. His voice is, hard as it may be to believe, more beautiful than its ever been. Lyrics still quirky and telling, song construction more mature and focused. Gone (on tracks released so far) are the beats and edges of Mobilize, but the high production value is still there. This album so far is the love child of Ladies Love Oracle and Mobilize -- the best of both in one bunch of songs. Can't wait to hear the rest of it. He is, for my money, the best male singer/songwriter today. I'll buy this album the day it comes out. Anybody else looking forward to this?
