Don't be daft. No doubt what you describes happens. But there is tons of evidence to show that much, if not most, of what is going on in these massage parlors is not "simply consensual sexwork."
I wrote up the legal implications for Kraft. The Implications of Robert Kraft’s Arrest on Charges of Solicitation of Prostitution
Google and choose your news source of choice. Police reports, investigative jouranlism... from the right...from the left...from the libertarians. Do you have any evidence of it being "simply consexual sexwork"? Like I said, I'm sure some of it is, but then there's also a wide range of semi- and non-consensual sexwork that by now is well documented. You can find it easily if you're interested.
It is a bunch of anti-sex hysteria. There is little to no sex trafficking in this country. It is simply exaggerated so law enforcement can get more funding and make these big news “busts” arresting 50 year old Asian women for giving rub and tubs.
Yes, there is a lot of anti-sex hysteria in this country. We are astonishingly prudish about sex culturally. There is a ton of sex trafficking going on in this country and most (but certainly not all) sex workers are not in the career by active choice.
Most sex workers are not in the career by active choice? That’s blatabtly false and deprives these women of their agency as human beings. You can just follow their twitter accounts to see there is a thriving pro sex worker community that gets maligned by moralizing folks in a panic over sex trafficking such as yourselves.
Backpage shutting down due to sex trafficking hysteria caused sex workers to move to Twitter, but it also causes many of them to move to the streets and lose their independence because it is much more dangerous way to do the business, so it requires some sort of protection from a pimp like figure.
In the same vein, massage parlors offer a safe environment for sex workers than visiting homes or working on the streets and shutting them down is counterproductive for the safety of the workers.
Not only that, but they get to sleep on their own massage table and save money by cooking on a hot plate instead of eating disgusting restaurant food!
I haven't seen any video of dozens of freed sex slaves being led out from one of these places. Did I miss it or have they actually run a sex trafficking sting that hasn't freed anyone?
This made it on SNL. https://www.spin.com/2019/03/jussie...ebrity-legal-advice-in-snl-shark-tank-parody/
From the local news reports, it seems like a couple dozen storefronts were closed down. It was reported that 4 women were in custody from one of the Martin County busts but it was hoped that they would testify against the traffickers. It was mentioned that some have gotten their relatives back in China threatened if they testify.
None of this would've happened if he built the Revs their very own stadium somewhere inside the Boston city limits
Yes, I knew they had closed several places and arrested some madams. But the sheriff was claiming the slave girls lived in the parlors, sleeping on the tables and cooking in the backroom. If they came up with 200+ johns, where are the freed victims?
They don't have to but usually do. Partly for PR relations for law enforcement and partly to spur the public to give information. The victims may or may not be cooperative, the madams might claim to be victims too, etc. Not to mention it supports the decision to not prosecute the prostitutes if they can be characterized as victims.
Lol you couldn’t make this s*** up if you were trying... reality has better writers than “S&L” and The Onion President Donald Trump cheered Robert Kraft’s team to Super Bowl victory with founder of spa where he was bustedhttps://t.co/jnpu9C5nc7 pic.twitter.com/fh24lauX0P— Miami Herald (@MiamiHerald) March 8, 2019
If you scroll through that Twitter thread you'll see pretty much every prominent member of the Republican Party being photographed with her. They said that Kraft wasn't the biggest name implicated, and I can see why.
