He'll wind up there at the beginning of next season. Sven has an eye on Shakhtar, look how he bought Elano from them...I think he's got an eye on all the lesser leagues, because at first it seemed like he couldn't grab any of the players that he truly wanted. But he'll get Nery next year while they're getting ready for the Champions League in 08.

But let's say Man City doesn't make the Champions League, Nery's good enough to play for a much larger club if he shows his stuff at Shakhtar. Which he will, there isn't the overall speed in the league to deal with a player like him. With Nery, Shakhtar are definitely good enough to get past the group stage of the Champions League, if they get drawn into a favorable group. Even if they don't, they'll get into the UEFA Cup afterward by finishing third in their group. They're good enough for that, at least.

 

I consider the Ukranian league inferior then that of Greece's. Hopefully the move doesnt effect Nery's abilities and continues to keep his level of play. I still think its inevitable for Nery to end up in La Liga or EPL, I just hope it happens sooner then later.
