Worst MLS Debut Curtis Spiteri -- Chicago Fire Worst Mid-Season Acquisition Mark Williams -- Columbus Crew
I didn't like him when he was with Metros.....and while I sympathize with him losing his father, the time he took off was extremely exessive.......I am sure he will cost the quakes a game with his finishing abilities too......
MLS player: Landon Donovan for his complaining (fatigue from too many games, when Real Madrid, could play up to 60 games a year). Commentator: Rob Stone for his distasteful D.C. sniper reference during the Crew-United game. Team: Dallas especially for their horrible high school stadium. 2005 and the new Frisco stadium couldn't come soon enough for the team.
1) MLS Players Steve Jolley. He's a bitch, that's why. 2) MLS Coaches/Managers Greg Andrulis. While Jeffries was in charge of the most inept team, by far, Andrulis turned what should have been the most exciting team to watch in MLS into a blundering opus, unable to overtake a team that went 0-3-3 in it's last 6 games of the season. 3) MLS Teams Dallas Burn. Whine about losing O'Brien and Kreis all you want, those are things you should have been able to make up for. Not only that, but Dragon Stadium should have given you some sort of elevated home field advantage. Instead, you were crap all year long. 4) MLS Executives/Businessmen Wagner. I would have been upset playing at Dragon Stadium if I was on a JV high school team. 5) MLS Officials Abbey Okulaja. I don't recall him even coming close to keeping control of a game he called. The recent Crew-DC game was the worst of all, as he missed things both ways. 6) MLS Fans Revs fans. Gillette Stadium isn't actually a library, you know. Being loud is ok. 7) MLS Media Announcers/Writers Whomever the SJ writer was that spends a whole post-game article on how poor Landon was fouled a couple times during the game. 8) Non-MLS Personality Vergara and his Chivas cronies, for continuing to put out quotes in the media that insinuate that they can just bend the rules whatever way they please. 9) Others Clint Mathis. Biggest waste of talent since Jovan Kirovski.
actually it is. The Stadium is impossible to keep any noise because it all drains out under the bridge. Patriots fans also have trouble with atmosphere.
My two cents: 1) MLS Player Giles 2) MLS Coach/Manager Mike Jeffries 3) MLS Team Galaxy 4) MLS Executive/Business John Wagner. 5) MLS Officials Michael Kennedy 6) MLS Fans Metros 7) MLS Media (I'll pass on this one.... I don't mind any of them. They all mean well, at the very least ) 8) Non MLS Personality Foudy 9) Others Rochester Rhinos for even considering the artificial stuff as a cost saving measure for the new stadium.
dignified discussion please You are first person I have heard imply, in any way, that Califf was at fault for Twellman's injury. Why do you think that Califf committed a foul? If I recall correctly the ball was about 18 inches off the ground when Twellman tried to head it while Califf tried to kick it. My impression was that Twellman was at fault for attempting to head the low ball. Technically a dangerous play call on Twellman but at that level you let men take those risks if they want to, after all it is his own face. I bet Twellman would do it again, he is a warrior.
HOLD ALL VOTES! It appears the Metrostars Marketing Staff has decided to make a late push for the award! http://www.metrostars.com/gameday/2003/mpf_pregame.htm#PHOTO
Gilles Grimandi - see ya later Hristo - leg breaker Steve Cangialosi/Shep Messing - worst commentators in MLS
Dallas fans for incessantly bitching about the stadium rather than dealing with it and seeing your team. Fair weather fans are fantastic!!
1) MLS Player Pat Onstadt - can't make the mistakes he makes at this level. 2) MLS Coach/Manager Mike Jeffries 3) MLS Team Dallas Burn 4) MLS Executive/Business John Wagner. 5) MLS Officials Michael Kennedy 6) MLS Fans Dallas Burn 7) MLS Media San Jose press 8) Non MLS Personality Not sure 9) Others Landon Donovan for being unsportsmanlike many times this year.
Let's break down one of the worst posts I've ever read: The horror. A goalkeeper knocks a ball into his own net, yet leads the league in goalkeeping. Accidents happen, everyone that steps on the field makes a mistake at some point. He will almost certainly be goalkeeper of the year. As a Wizards fan I certainly appreciate him knocking the ball into the net, but come on, that was six months ago. I'll give you that one. Yeah, they sucked. But that's just easy pickings and basically the same thing phrased two different ways. So, he took an unprofitable team and slashed its losses. He also signed a contract which gets the team its own stadium with 55 of the 65 million to build it being publicly funded. Oh, the horror. And he's any worse than the rest of the lot? What would make you say that? I think the Dallas Burn fans are the best ones in the league. Sitting through the season from hell in Dragon Stadium is more than most fans of other teams would've done. Perhaps its the background population of Dallas that doesn't go to games that sucks, but then there's 10 million folks in the NYC metroplex that couldn't give a damn about the Metros, either. I'm not sure what this is based on. Personally I would think the worst coverage is by the KC Star. The Wizards have virtually no local or national coverage. Unsportsmanlike? And this is different than many other players? Why single him out?
All just opinion, Andy... No need to single my answers out when some others agree. And of course players make mistakes all the time -- but Onstadt has made multiple silly ones and just because he has a great defense in front of him (best in the league, in my opinion), doesn't make him goalkeeper of the year. I think Hartman has proved himself more than the prior... But all just my opinion.
Refresh my memory then, what are some of the silly mistakes he has made besides his one against the Wizards earlier this season?
1) MLS Player Mark Williams - The guy comes in and gets a yellow in every single game! On top of that he is slow and cannot get up in the air. 2) MLS Coach/Manager Andrulis - How does he manage to take a team with that much talent and guide them to a last place finish? 3) MLS Team Dallas Burn - Not much else to explain is there? 4) MLS Executive/Business Garber - For allowing the fiasco that is becoming Chivas. He need to come out and address some of the rumors flying about. 5) MLS Officials Is one any worse than the other? 6) MLS Fans Anyone who bithces about attendance without going to the games. 7) MLS Media ESPN - I know that MLS is not huge, but for the popularity it does have the coverage is less than track and filed. 8) Non MLS Personality Gilles Grimandi - I think he saw the quality he was facing and pussed out.

What gives? Ok. It's been 3 day since nobody has voted. Should I go on and end this voting or do you want me to continue?
Re: UPDATED VOTE COUNT 1) MLS Players Hristo Stoickhov-I'll get to this at the teams portion 2) MLS Coaches/Managers Mike Jeffries-It must have been hard to take that talent and turn it into Rubbish... 3) MLS Teams D.C. United-listen, I like some of the young ones, but if MLS had the balls to charge people with "bringing the game into disrepute" Hristo and Marco would be lined up. They constantly bitch and flop. Add that to Hristo and Dema's horrible tackles causing serious injuries and we have a winner. How anyone can vote for the Burn because they suck when stuff like this is going on is beyond me 4) MLS Executives/Businessmen Jorge Vergara-Chivas USA has the ability to ruin this league and all respectablility it has been building. 5) MLS Officials Gus St. Silva-This is cumulative. He has been so bad, so long, its unbelievable. 6) MLS Fans Earthquakes fans-Just plain bad. I'd hate to see their fans if they went through a Dallas Burn type season... 7) MLS Media Announcers/Writers Metros marketing staff. Come on guys.....MPF is the biggest failure since, well, yeah.. 8) Non-MLS Personality Soccer-bashers. Just shut up, we don't like you either, get on with you lives. 9) Others Dragon Stadium-disaster. Makes Cardinal Stadium seem like Old Trafford.
I find this one interesting. Because he's a Boston area resident, I've never seen him reffing a game except for a couple of early round cup ties. He's only ever a 4th official for Revs MLS games. I would have thought that Vaughan or the guy who did DC-Columbus was at least as bad, but they don't seem to be getting the votes. Well, since I didn't vote for a game official, I'll go for Vaughan. I am mystified how Moore's tackle in Chicago back in April was a red while DiGi's "I wish I was a free safety" number last Saturday was only a yellow.
