Never challenge a man that has nothing to lose. The USMNT has nothing to lose from this game, they're expected to lose. That's why I feel the US can finally end that undefeated streak Mexico has against them in El Azteca.* *I'm sorry if this post is threatening.
It looks like Geoff Cameron will be the veteran CB, with midfielder Maurice Edu slipping into the CB role along side of him. This is going to be invaluable experience for Cameron who has nobody to look up to in this match.
Cameron and Edu are good bets to return to the Azteca for a WCQ, so that's great experience for them. Even if they don't play there again, they'll certainly see some other very difficult environments in WCQ'ing.
With Beasley old ass in the mix, that shows me he wanted someone with some experiance playing at Azteca. That means we're going out there to win! Vamos Jurgen Dirty yanks atoda madre!
If you're looking for a distraction at work, or a time-kill at home, before tonight's game, ESPN3 will have several potentially interesting friendlies this afternoon, including Argentina x Germany and France x Uruguay.
Anyone else planning on going anywhere else? Colorado is too far from the Bear Creek area.. saw this too
I see 3 options that I know of: Dirty Yanks - Colorado Dynamo - 360 sports American Outlaws - Bar Munich Anyone know of any others they reccomend?
There's always Cosmos Disco on Gulfton where the USA v Guatemala watch party was. http://www.cosmosdisco.com/
You can tell it's just a friendly, just Mexican fans aiming laser pointers at Tim Howard's face. They must be saving all of the urine bags up for qualifying.
"The referee has indicated a minimum of 29 minutes of stoppage time OR until Mexico scores will be added"
^^^ This guy right here. Congrats to the USMNT on making history (friendly or not). Hope it's a confidence booster and a sign of better/bigger things to come.
Klinsmann's postgame interview on ESPN hit the nail on the head: good performance, pretty solid defense, need to have more possession, more offense, were a bit lucky, Tim Howard was huge. I thought the German faction of the U.S. team was average tonite, Donovan was invisible. Still, good enough to crank up "GOALS, GOALS, GOALS for the Red, white & blue"!!!!
