Zenit were the better side. I thought they should have had a PK on that handball in the first half; not so sure on the one that went the other way in the second. There were a lot of things Rangers could have been carded for that the official let go. Zenit's passing, particularly on that first goal, was a thing of beauty.
I had yesterday a great day watching Rangers... Went yesterday to the Stags Head Pub to watch the game. Had my "special" Dynamo jersey on. Plus Rangers cap + Scarf . Had private conversations with Brian Ching, Greg Waibel, Glenn Davis http://www.glenndavissoccer.com/ and the Danish Dynamite aka Jan Christiansen (owner of Danish Inspirations) . Great times .
Re: [NDR] Fiorentina v. Rangers [R] You were saying EX-Friend!! lol... I shoulda placed a bet. I agree the the post above. No doubt that Zenit was the better team. Of course, coming from a Celtic fan, that's an easy call.
The first goal was awesome, and the second one was pretty sweet too. I enjoyed the game, both teams played well but Zenit deserved to win. The crowd was great too, especially the time that the Ranger fans, inspired by the Zenit guys behind the goal, started jumping, and before long the entire stadium was jumping... not just the supporters, but the whole stadium. I would love for that to happen just once at Robertson, I tried to get 204 to jump in the last game after a goal, I sort of got about 5 of us going for a minute....
Rangers attempt at playing the bunker ball and counter attack approach really bit them in the UEFA Cup ass. The Russians and their supporters executed well and sorted out the Huns within the first 10 minutes...after that it was only a matter of time before Zenit broke through.
That is the reason, why the ENGLISH NATIONAL TEAM never reached an Euro FINAL or won anything the last 42 years!!! They buy foreigners for their teams ....
Hey no argument here but then I'm not English. All I care about is Everton winning the title. Players like Arshavin would certainly help.
