Honestly, the day Hip-hop stopped being fun for me was when it stopped rapping about having fun. These days its all about how many ho's you can get, how much your bank account has got, and what rims you got on your crap car...
rap isn't music as far as i'm concerned... well, most of it, at least. it's a form of entertainment, expression, and the like, but it is not music. 'course, i suppose some people have different opinions as to what makes a musical score.
I totally disagree. Hiphop is the best music out there right now. And who says rap isn't fun anymore? If you really believe that, please go download two songs which are very popular right now- 1) Kanye West "Workout Plan" 2) Eminem "Just Lose It" And if you really want to hear some good music, go buy the latest Jay-Z album. It's great stuff.
Please, that isn't fun. Workout Plan is the worst song on college dropout, IMO, it's just another "rims, cash, and ho's" song as Kanye put it so eloquently. And Just Lose It is simply a "Guess Who's Back" rehash set to a crappy beat.
The problem with rap/hip-hop is it's become part of the establishment. The result being that it's been driven into as much a record label formula as, say, boy bands or pop-punk. There are a few exceptions. Outkast is certainly trying different things rather than just making the same album over and over again. But overall, rap/hip-hop is as devoid of creativity now as the rest of Top 40.
face it Rap/Hip-Hop sucks now...it was beter in the late 80's and 90's (old School), ever since eminem came, now thinkin hes all that cause of DRE and kissin ass to 2Pac which I think if Pac was alive.. he would of kicked Em's ass for usin his songs and ********,eminem got the worse songs of all rap, its not Hip-Hop hes representing its Hip-POP for his ass , all that Gay-Unit Crap sux.
That's why my usertext is a line from Inspectah Deck. 90% of anything hip-hop released after 1997 sucks ass. The last really great all-around hip-hop album was Wu-Tang Forever; even a lot of the solo stuff has paled in comparison. The day Meth goes crunk is the day I pull a drive-by at the Source Awards.
Actually the only thing good about that is Jenna Jameson is in it....and well...anyhow. I have to agree (cringe) with Eggy. Rap is sh!t. Then again most easily accessible music is sh!t.
