It's the last one of the 2008 Season. Here are the details... Date: Friday, November 7, 2008 Time: 7:30pm - 9:30pm Location: Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium if you guys don't have anything to do come out. the boys like it when there is a lot of noise like the Crew games. Admission is 5 for Adults 3 for Students and Free with BuckID. some of us who do go chant and yell and we are heard. the "block o" group was there for the IU game and it was crap. PM me if you are going or write it on here.
I'll def. be there!!! If anyone wants to tailgate before hand that'd be awesome too!!! Even if you're not a huge Ohio State fan, just go for the love of soccer and a little warm up of the vocals for the Crew match Saturday!!!!
I'll agree that Block "O" doesn't support soccer as well as when Mike, Erin, Andrew and I were all officers (and involved in v-army at the same time), but you're not going to get very far bashing the largest organization at Ohio State. Football is what they do, 2,500+ people on game day from what I understand. They (well Andrew) created the NutHouse for basketball and now they also have a decent volleyball and hockey groups. It'll get there, but better to work with than against, after all, you're there for the same reason.
I'm going to be in the uncomfortable position of actively rooting against my alma mater because I really want to see Akron ranked as high as possible. They're due. Fear the Roo!
So are you going to bring your traitorous self to Jesse Owens? BTW, I want to bank with those implements.
yea when Keeper and I stood with them they did one or two chants and left the second half. we are planning to get there about 6ish so we can tailgate. i do encourage everyone to come out because the guys love it when were is sound to the match. it makes them feel like they are playing at CCS. no im not FOTY nor the "realist fan of 2008" I just do what I do cuz I love my sport.
yes, but her other thread disqualifies her despite her Humble Denial(tm) Alas, but for whom shall we vote now?
If it hasn't already happened, I'd like to take a moment and offer my prayers to the good, useful word "hate" as it passes from this world. Few things can actually die from overuse. Alas, "hate", you've been abused for the last time, flogged senselessly one too many times. in pace requiem rAmen.
i also just got word that Akron is bringing 3 bus loads of fans soo...we need the Supporters!!! i don't care if you don't like OSU still come out and tune those Akron freaks out!
I'm going to go ahead and guess that the Akron folks will, barring massive Crew cross-support, slaughter the OSU folks loudness-wise. Been to way too many Akron games, and this is a very big one indeed. It will be a less vulgar and less creative version of the Nordecke, but exceptionally loud and organized for a college group. They're surprisingly engaged and consistent. They enjoy heckling the keeper (especially at the Jack, where there is a hill behind the east goal, where a crapload of students stand not more than 5 yards from the goal line). Akron's got great - if smallish - dedicated support. And I can't emphasize enough how much it pains me to say that, as I graduated from OSU. Worse is that I will almost be forced to root for Akron. Prepare to be civilized, Central Ohio. The superior hordes from the Great Northeast will be there to root out all the southwestern interlopers and hillbillies.
Did your "source" say they were bringing three short buses or something? Because 3 buses should be closer to 150, no? Besides which, I'm sure there will be quite a few people like me who are going without the benefit of a bus.
