NC State 2-0 to Hartford. First goal was an own goal. Shortly after NC State's Alan Sanchez beat the keeper but hit the post in the first half. NC State is still trying to find itself offensively. They outshot Hartford 10-8 and were unlucky not to get at least a point out of the match.
Just to be clear, the result was 0-2, Hartford wins. When I first read your post, I thought it indicated a 2-0 NCSU victory.
I don't know much about Hartford this year, although they were voted 8th (of 9) in the preseason America East poll. They lost to Duke 5-2 last week. Boston University of the America East also beat an ACC team already- 2-1 over BC. Even though BU are typically scum of the earth types, those are a pretty good set of results for America East.
Hartford has one of the most underrated coaches in this country in Dan Gasper. He's previously been a goal keeper coach with Porto, Benfica, Portugal MNT, Metrostars and head coach with the USL Connticut Wolves. http://www.hartfordhawks.com/index.cfm?md=fc_roster&tmp=detail&rstID=101&rsiID=978
