Well, bonsoir to you, Monsieur Gorille de Congo. I'm in. That makes 3. C'mon boys! C'mon girls! Give in to the beat surrender! Sorry, I was channelling Paul Weller there for a minute. Seriously, this is an imporant night to help your club out buy planning and organizing some events for the Open Cup match. Help us help you. Bring the qwan. Come down, bring a friend, buy some grub and see Metro run wild on the San Hosers.
just sent the email, but i'll post here im in as well, got some ideas for flyers to pass out to try and get new members...i'll make it in from Queens
I guess I'll go. Not for the game but for the experience of smoking cigarettes outside of a NYC bar, I hear it makes your cigarettes taste better.
I called; I confirmed for Sunday. Don't let the girl who answers put you off with "we aren't open on Sunday." Speak to da man, he'll take your name. Seems like we are close to the minimum number -- go for the max! He also mentioned the pre-match gathering on the 15th. And a buddy from work is taking a bunch of my flyers to his neighborhood to hand out -- latino, but they are all okay with English and into soccer, he says. I asked him to translate the flyer, but he said no need. Mostly an Equadorian neighborhood in Jersey City. We are gonna make this thing BIG. -- still waiting for a call from Metro re: tix. Lines are busy, and that is a good sign.
They're in Philadelphia. We're making some, should have a bunch for Sunday. If you have an idea, make one copy of a flyer and bring it wit' ya'.
not sure if i'll make the 2pm roundtable, so nominate a secretary and take detailed minutes! either way, i'm there in spirit!
You do realize of course that the Metros/Quakes game is getting bumped for playoff baseball don't you? Just thought I'd try and let you know so you won't get there and destroy the place when baseball comes on instead of the game..
It apparently depends on the outcome of today's game....Go Marlins! Under different circumstances, i could not care less....
All, the bar will be open, the game will be shown. Bring yourself, a friend if possible, and a twenty to drop on some food, beer and tip to thank them for opening the bar for us. Thank you.
I'll be there with $20. and about 100 !WE WANT THE CUP! flyers. Please take some, but only for hand outs and instore-with-consent posting. You can't post flyers in NYC anymore without some kind of commercial license. A woman was recently fined @ $500/flyer that she put up in public announcing an open apartment or a play. Remember when people were being busted for taking a break sitting on milk crates or subway stairs? Same sort of 'quality of life' ordinance for flyers, etc. In fact, I'm going to check with the precinct on 20th Street before heading to Nathan's to find out exactly what restrictions apply to fyers, announcements, etc.
