A number of NASL, USL Pro and PDL teams are nearing 25 years of existence. Year given is first year the team started to play. USL Pro 24 teams, NASL 11 teams, PDL 65 teams = 100 minor league teams (not including NPSL) 1.Atlanta Silverbacks 1995-2008 2011- (Atlanta Ruckus 1995-1998), (A-League 1995-2004, USL First Division 2005-2008, NASL 2011-) 2.Carolina Railhawks 2007- (USL First Division 2007-2009, D2 2010, NASL 2011-) 3.FC Edmonton 2011- 4.Fort Lauderdale Strikers 2006- (Miami FC 2006-2010) (USL First Divsion 2006-2009, D2 2010, NASL 2011-) 5.Indy Eleven 2014- 6.Jacksonville Armada 2015- 7.Minnesota United FC 1990- (Minnesota Thunder 1990-2009, NSC Minnesota Stars 2010) (No League 1990-1993, USISL 1994, USISL Pro 1995, USISL Select 1996, A-League 1997-2004, USL First Division 2005-2009, D2 2010, NASL 2011-) 8.New York Cosmos 2013- 9.Ottawa Fury FC 2014- 10.San Antonio Scorpions 2012- 11.Tampa Bay Rowdies 2010- (D2 2010, NASL 2011-)
United is, technically (and legally and realistically and historically) not the Thunder. It wasn't a matter of a new owner taking over a club, it was an entirely new club. The Ruckus/A-League Atlanta/Silverbacks connection is slightly less tenuous, but one might consider the Silverbacks to be a second franchise, as well, if one so desired. And the hiatus makes things a bit messy, too.
