You could turn the New York Cosmos into the Harlem Globetrotters of soccer. They sort of killed off the ASL too.
When I moved to Florence a month after 9/11, it was one year after that show aired. After growing up in Northern California, I had one gone on a tour the year before but hadn't been since I was a kid and that was only to visit family with my parents. Not sure if that was the reason I moved there but watching that episode of the Sopranos really got me motivated to move to Italy. I felt like Paulie! LOL!
Commendatori! And while thats a good tale, Id be more impressed if you were there with Sophia Milos. Ive seen that episode several times but cant seem to focus on anything besides her. Wow.
Yeah she was beautiful but so are most Italian women... Bringing it back to soccer, I guess that is why many Serie A soccer players marry or end up in relationships with beautiful Italian showgirls.... Mario Balotelli and new fiancé Alessia Messina... Mario Balotelli gets engaged to stunning Big Brother star ...
With Fiorentina's draw against Genoa today, they sit in 17th place with 2 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses, only sitting a place above the relegation zone. Honestly that last minute stoppage time was bullshit, the game shouldn't have continued after the assigned extra six minutes. Fiorentina scored at the last minute, it would've been Genoa's match! Other than that, Rocco's new plaything is going swell!
Has he filed any lawsuits yet? I know of some lawyers who will be available around this time next week.
Well it seems that the Cosmos have gone on "hiatus" for this year. Officially it's because if Covid ( I call B.S) on that but you have to have seen this coming after Rocco brought Fiorentina (doing a great job running that team into the ground as well)
Rocco's going to get his USFL-style monetary damages of approx. $750 and a Subway five dollar foot-long, throwing hissy-fits on how China conspired with US Soccer and MLS kept his Cosmos from competing in who-what's-it third division league, eventually sells the brand to MLS/SUM therefore paving the way New York Red Bulls buying NWSL Sky Blue FC and renaming them as New York Cosmos. There. You have the Cosmos in a first division league.
Huh? The New York Cosmos are still a team??? Whatever...the less air given to that delusional club the better,
When I saw this thread pop back up in the 'new posts' area I thought... wait, that's still a thing? Now, I've thought that several times when this thread resurrects... but, today I noticed that this thread started in September, 2017. Three and a quarter years ago... Law suits take a long time, but there is usually some sense of progress. But, nothing has happened on the legal front in for-freaking-ever.
The latest update I can find is from September. https://socceresq.com/2020/09/22/na...t-against-us-soccer-mls-in-antitrust-lawsuit/
You don't need lawsuits to actually go anywhere in order to convince brainwashed idiots that you have won...
Sadly, it does in fact plod on. Steven Bank commented that "excess pages" should be the title of a book written about soccer litigation in the US over the last few years.
They’re no friends of MLS/SUM. Probably have beef from when that La Liga game was denied permission to be played. Are there still two separate cases? Or all one big one now? Relevent Ups Stakes With Federal Antitrust Lawsuit vs. U.S. Soccer Thx, Jay!
